Secret Nickname That Antonio Banderas’s Stepdaughter, Dakota Johnson, Used To Call Him

Everyone is anticipating any updates regarding Banderas’s family, so they gave fans what they wanted. The family has made headlines for the most random things possible. People were thrilled after learning the nickname that Antonio Banderas’s stepdaughter, Dakota Johnson, used to call the award-winning star.

An interview revealed that Dakota Johnson had a special nickname for her stepdad Antonio Banderas. According to the reports released by E! News, Banderas stated that Johnson used to call him Paponio. He further explained that by saying, “I am ‘Papi’ and ‘Antonio’ altogether, she always called me ‘Paponio.'”

Some of you might wonder how did Banderas and Johnson even get close to each other, considering Banderas has been dating investment advisor Nicole Kimpel for so long now.

Banderas was actually previously married to Johnson’s mom, actor Melanie Griffith, for 20 years until their split up in 2015. Even though Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith divorced years ago, Dakota Johnson continues to love and respect the actor.

Dakota Johnson has been an actor for a long time. However, it wasn’t until she landed the role of Anastasia Steele in the hot erotic romance movie ’50 Shades of Grey that she truly made a name for herself. That said, Johnson has always been in the spotlight, given that she was born into a prominent family of actors.

Dakota Johnson was born to Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, who are also known actors of their time. Griffith and Don Johnson met on the set of one of their movies in the 1900s, where they subsequently developed feelings. They started dating when Griffith was only fourteen years old.

However, their love for each other didn’t last long, as they ended everything five years after Dakota was born due to irreconcilable differences. Some reports say that the stars admitted they had fallen off the wagon.

Although there was no evidence that Dakota Johnson had some beef with her father, the word is that her father totally cut her off from receiving any money from him the moment she decided not to enter college.

However, it seems like money isn’t a problem for Dakota, considering she is now one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Sadly, their father-and-daughter relationship has been on a rough path since Don and Griffith’s split up.

In an interview, Don revealed that Dakota doesn’t call him for advice like any daughter would. Instead, she only calls him to say, ‘Gosh, I would see you, but I’ve got three pictures that I’m shooting at the same time.’

Regardless of what Johnson feels towards each of her dads, there is no question at all that she has grown fond of her stepfather through the years. In hindsight, it isn’t surprising since Banderas has probably seen Johnson grow from being a child into the woman she is today.

Their father and daughter tandem was also portrayed in a film called “Blackbird.” They have also supported one another through the years; even with their busy schedule, they try their best to cheer each other up as much as possible.

After Johnson gave him the Hollywood actor award at the 2019 Hollywood Film Awards event, Banderas was asked what he thought of Dakota’s speech. Banderas responded in an interview that he was so touched by his stepdaughter’s compliments that it has become one of the most beautiful speeches anyone had ever made to him. He is thus really appreciative that Dakota hasn’t stopped thinking about him.

That said, although they are not related by blood, they are indeed related by love. As felt by the nickname that Antonio Banderas’s stepdaughter, Dakota Johnson, calls him. They indeed have an unbreakable bond no one can ruin.
