When Pedro received his K-1 Visa, the pair rushed back to Chantel’s home in Georgia to finally tie the knot. Chantel and Pedro chose to first have an intimate celebration at Pedro’s house in the Dominican Republic before throwing a major party in the US to show respect for the Jimeno family.
Issues of Their Marriage Started to Arise: 2022
Years after their marriage, problems began to surface between the two.
Although their romance began well, their marriage was hampered by their families, who injected so much drama and heartache into the couple’s relationship, resulting in a slew of issues, such as allegations of adultery and financial mismanagement.
According to some sources, Pedro accused his wife of moving over $257,000 from their joint business account and depositing money in an account named after her and her sister.
As a result, Pedro filed a petition, seeking that the money be transferred into an account he and his wife can access. Furthermore, Pedro wishes for this money to be spent solely on their household bills and needs as a couple. However, it appears that it did not end well.

After a series of conflicts between the two, Pedro could no longer stand how his wife was behaving. So, the couple chose to live separately for a while as they attempted to mend their already crumbling marriage.
Filing for Divorced: May 2022
Despite Pedro’s efforts to rekindle their relationship, Chantel’s disrespectful behavior as a partner had gone beyond Pedro’s imagination. Hence, the Dominican national went on to file for divorce from Chantel, claiming that their marriage was “irretrievably broken,” and requesting that all of their assets be divided equally between them.
Meanwhile, as soon as Chantel found out about this, she also filed her own divorce petition. Following a series of hearings, the two were given a mutual restraining order, which prohibits them from making substantial changes to their insurance policies or assets without first informing the other.

A few months after their divorce filing announcements, Chantel’s family can’t help but voice their disappointment and displeasure at Pedro’s decision. They even accused him of being a ”marriage scammer.”
However, the Dominican Republic native instantly refuted this accusation, claiming that he was the one who got duped in their marriage. In the seven years he and Chantel have been together, he has grown to love her so much that he tried to mend things even though he knew they would never be the same.
That is why, despite his sudden decision, he knows he did the right thing, especially since he already had “enough” of Chantel’s doings. Since the issue has come to light, the majority of audiences leaned towards supporting Chantel, leaving Pedro with so much online hate. Although he tried to keep silent for the longest time, it seemed like he couldn’t take it anymore, and he finally spoke out.
