Born in 1978, Lorene Scafaria is one of the most notable directors of this generation. She was born in New Jersey to a relatively middle-class family. She graduated high school in Holmdel back in 1955. A few years later, she eventually earned a BA in English with a minor in theater at Montclair State University.
According to reports, she initially attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. However, since her family suffered financial challenges during that time, Scafaria had no choice but to transfer to Montclair so that she could finish college on time.

When asked what inspired her work, she honestly said she was just “bored” and “in panic,” so she decided to let it all out by making music.
