During one of their interviews, Jenny revealed to Kim Menzies that she is tired of Sumit’s family drama. She also added that she believes they will have a happier life if they are living in the US.
Jenny believes that Sumit will be able to experience a better and loving family if he comes back with her to the States instead of all the shouting and fighting that happens in his family circle.
For those who aren’t aware, Sumit was disowned by his family after secretly marrying Jenny. His father even told him that the only way to be accepted back into the family was to leave Jenny and stay in India.
That did not sit well with Jenny. She wanted her husband for herself, and she thought the only way that could happen was by going back to America.
The Cultural Differences

It’s pretty apparent that Jenny and Sumit are both struggling to adjust to each other’s culture and way of living. Jenny was even once criticized for not trying to learn Hindi at all.
Culture might also be one main reason why Jenny is willing to leave India without her husband. Living in a foreign country is challenging, especially since you know no one and understand nothing.
One reason Sumit’s parents won’t accept Jenny is how Indians view age, especially regarding marriage. A 90 day fiancé fan pointed out that Jenny’s age is supposed to be someone mature and full of wisdom. She should be someone who will guide Sumit as a parental figure and not as someone who he will share a romantic relationship with.
She is the Only One Sacrificing in the Relationship
Jenny thinks she is the only one sacrificing for their relationship. Now, she believes it’s her 90-Day Fiancé, Sumit’s, turn to do so. Jenny believes that she also lost so many things, and Sumit is not doing anything to help their relationship to survive.
That said, choosing between India and America is very hard for Sumit. He always thought he could keep both, so he hesitates to agree with Jenny’s proposition.
Sumit even mentioned that he plans to raise their future kids in India, which shocked Jenny because they agreed not to have kids in the first place. Jenny is already on her last straw and pushes Sumit to choose between India and her.
We can all understand how hard it is for Sumit to give Jenny his answer. Leaving the country you genuinely love is certainly difficult, but the same goes for Jenny.
She is staying in a very unfamiliar place, and both have reason to be torn between love and peace of mind. Jenny also mentioned that Sumit’s parents never liked her, and there is no chance they will ever accept her in their family.
So, are Jenny and Sumit Still Together?
Well, they are. Despite all the challenges they are going through, the couple is somewhat making it work.
Jenny had a hard time in India and wanted a way out. She even considers leaving her husband in his home country and returning to the US alone.
However, due to whatever miracle, the two of them survived the obstacles they faced, and though the issue might continue to bring tension in their relationship, 90-Day Fiancé’s Jenny and Sumit will continue to navigate to where they truly belong.
