In 2014, Jennifer Lawrence’s leaked photo of her nude self spread like wildfire across the Internet. According to the stories, someone had gained access to her personal information, hacked her iCloud account, and compromised her private photos.
Additionally, she wasn’t the only one who was targeted by this scheme. Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Kate Upton, and Kirsten Dunst also fell victim to it.

After the incident, the actress opened up about how she felt violated in every sense of the word.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, she expressed her frustration, saying that her status as a public figure didn’t mean she asked for this to happen to her. She continued, “It does not mean that it comes with the territory. It’s my body, and it should be my choice.” The fact that it wasn’t her choice to share the photos was “absolutely disgusting.”
Lawrence said that she couldn’t believe that we live in that kind of world.
Three years later, it didn’t get any better. In the November episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Award Chatter” podcast, she admitted that she was still processing everything.

She also recalled how she felt in shock and left speechless when her security first contacted her about what was happening. According to the actress, it was happening minute by minute, and it was almost like a ransom situation where the hackers released one photo every hour or so.
When it hit her, she felt like she was “gang banged by the f–cking planet.” She knew that everyone was capable of seeing those intimate photos of hers. It was so easy to pull up a phone and show it to anyone anytime and any day. “My trauma will exist forever,” she said.

Lawrence again touched upon that incident in 2021 for Vanity Fair’s December issue. It was the same feeling of frustration that anybody could look at her naked body without her consent. Case in point: It had already been seven years, but someone in France just republished her photos.
Nevertheless, she didn’t let it take over her life.
After the leaked photo, Jennifer Lawrence took on the thriller spy movie Red Sparrow. It was definitely a very sexual movie and had always been an “absolutely no way” kind of film for her. She was scared, and that decision solidified after what had happened. After doing it, she felt like she got something back that was taken from her.
