Who is Tucker Carlson’s Wife, Susan Andrews?

Being married to a public figure has its own rollercoaster of challenges. Tucker Carlson’s wife, Susan Andrews, knows it all too well.

If you’re always watching television, especially the primetime segment, you’d definitely come across political commentator Tucker Carlson. Carlson currently hosts Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News, one of the most high-rated current affairs programs, which first aired in November 2016.

As a conservative, he has had his fair share of controversies – multiple waves of them, to be exact – thanks to his controversial comments on several topics, including women, immigrants, and journalists.

Despite all that, Andrews stood by him. So, who is she?

Andrews has been married to Carlson since 1991 but has always been largely out of the limelight. Here’s what we know about her.

Susan Andrews is a stay-at-home wife and mom of four – three daughters named Dorothy, Lillie, and Hopie, and a son named Buckley.

She first met Carlson when they were 15, in the first week of the tenth grade at St. George’s School in Middletown, Rhode Island, where her father was the headmaster.

According to Carlson, Andrews was the ‘cutest 10th grade in America.’ Of course, she was equally charmed by him with his khaki pants and ribbon belt, and his optimistic vibe exuded through his bouncy steps.

Their high school romance turned into a long-distance college relationship. Carlson went to Hartford, Connecticut, to attend Trinity College. Then six months before he graduated, he asked for Andrew’s hand in marriage. The commentator said it was ‘all very 19th century, but a good thing to do.’

In the early 2000s, Carlson was working at the Atlanta-based network CNN, his first TV employer, when he received a letter threatening to prosecute him for sexual assault. The letter was sent by Attorney Paul ‘Matt’ Blanton for Kimberly Carter.

According to the allegation, the incident supposedly happened at a Harper’s Restaurant on Hurstborne Parkway in Kentucky Louisville. Carlson then slipped narcotics into Carter’s drink and went on to have his way with her violently.

The commentator knew then that the network would fire him once they found out about the letter, especially if charges were filed against him. However, he maintained his innocence, calling it a preposterous story as he had never heard of the place. He also added that with his jampacked schedule that month, he couldn’t have possibly made his way there.

Susan Andrews didn’t make any statements regarding the issue, but it was clear that she stood by his side through it all.

Carlson spent a total of fourteen grand in legal bills to prevent his name from being wrapped up in a rape allegation. The case was eventually dropped, and in an exclusive interview with DailyMail, Carter said it was all a misunderstanding as she had schizoaffective disorder.

Another challenging moment in their married life was in 2018. Protesters (apparently threatening Carlson and his family to leave the neighborhood) tried to break into their home in Washington, D.C., and Andrews was the only one at home then.

She was in the kitchen preparing dinner when she heard pounding and screaming at the front door. After that, she quickly hid in the pantry and called 911. It was a terrifying moment for her, but she remained strong in her relationship with her husband.

Tucker Carlson’s wife, Susan Andrews, may not be someone many people know, but she is a cornerstone of Carlson’s highly successful career. As they always say, “Behind every successful man, there stands a woman.”
