12 TV Shows Like Yellowstone You’d Definitely Binge

If you haven’t had enough of the Duttons and their dramatic family dynamics, power plays, and bloody violence, then here is a list of TV shows like Yellowstone. We’ve rounded up 12 of them, long enough to binge-watch after the show ends and in between the prequels, sequels, and spinoffs.

Succession

Binge it here: HBO Max

If you’re looking for a series like Yellowstone, and we mean the exact same vicious drama filled with validation-seeking siblings, betraying schemes for money and reputation, and hot romance, then the cult-favorite HBO Original Succession is IT. Succession is Yellowstone’s corporate version set on the East Coast, narrating the story of how four adult children vie for the throne that their father, media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox), has left.

Longmire

Binge it here: Netflix

Thinking about what to watch after Yellowstone – a bit different, but want to stay in the same genre? Longmire fits the bill to a T. It’s a modern-day Western based on Craig Johnson’s crime thriller novels following the story of a small-town sheriff named Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) as he rebuilds his life and career after his wife’s death. And it tackles the same family dysfunction and tribal jurisdiction themes just like Yellowstone but with an addicting dose of crime drama.

Sons of Anarchy

Binge it here: Hulu

Sons of Anarchy and Yellowstone share the same dark family drama with elements of violence, moral ambiguity, and chilling energy that will keep you grasping at the edge of your seat. But unlike cowboys and ranchers, you’d be met by an outlaw biker gang. And Yellowstone show-runner Taylor Sheridan is in it too, playing the role of Deputy David Hale. This was his biggest acting credit and the role that he ultimately quit as he voyaged into screenwriting.

Mayor of Kingstown

Binge it here: Paramount+

You’ll never go wrong with the Mayor of Kingstown, mainly because this show was also written by Taylor Sheridan. So, you’ll see familiar elements in the show that has been touched on in Yellowstone. Though instead of an influential rancher family in Montana, this one center around a powerful Michigan broker family led by Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) and their shady, side deal business inside the incarceration industry.

Ozark

Binge it here: Netflix

Take Yellowstone into a drug cartel setting and mix a few things over, and you have Ozark. This Netflix favorite tells the story of self-employed Chicago financial adviser Martin “Marty” Byrde, who moved his family to Missouri to launder money and take up a life of crime, all in the name of keeping off an angry drug lord and keeping everyone else from getting harmed.

Justified

Binge it here: Hulu

If Rip Wheeler is your favorite character from Yellowstonethen you’d definitely take a liking to Justified’s US Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant). That is, Givens has a reputation for his Wild West style of doing things – a cocktail of rule-breaking badass execution of the law. The series was inspired by a novel written by Western legend Elmore Leonard.

Walker, Texas Ranger

Binge it here: Philo

Walker, Texas Ranger follows Sergeant Cordell Walker (Chuck Norris) as a Texas Ranger and martial arts expert as he fights crimes with his partner using the Code of the Old West. It’s a bit of Yellowstone but light on the drama elements, so it’s a perfect watch for those who haven’t moved on yet from the Paramount series but want to take it a notch down. It’s an old show, though. It premiered in 1993 and ran for eight seasons until 2001. But if you aren’t into the ‘90s, it has a reboot titled Walker with Jared Padalecki taking on the famed Chuck Norris character.

Godless

Binge it here: Netflix

A series similar to Yellowstone but way easier to binge that you can also enjoy is Godless. This single-season mini-series narrates the story of Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), who betrayed his Wild West brotherhood and sought refuge with a hardened widower in a small town of women. And the drama that ensued after his old gang boss came looking for him to exact revenge.

The Sopranos

Binge it here: HBO

If you like Yellowstone, you’ll love The Sopranos – no cap. The series, which came out in 1999, is all about mob-boss – the blueprint of the modern patriarch – Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini). While you won’t find the usual cowboy hats and boots prancing around committing murders for John Dutton, you’d find the same chaotic family dynamics which will pull you in enough to get hooked.

Hatfields & McCoys

Binge it here: Prime Video

Get yourself a dose of Yellowstone with this three-part mini-series that portrays the real-life border feud between the Hatfields from West Virginia, led by William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield (Kevin Costner) and the McCoys from Kentucky, led by Randolph “Randall” McCoy (Bill Paxton) after the Civil War. It’s gritty, violent, and most importantly, it’s Kevin Costner in cowboy attire. How much more could it get Yellowstone-like?

Bloodline

Binge it here: Netflix

If you like Yellowstone, what else to watch? Well, Bloodline is a great series to fill the Montana-sized gap. It’s set in the Key West that follows the story of a family who has been forced to face the secrets of their past when the black sheep, Danny Rayburn (Ben Mendelsohn), returns home. There are also several story-lines embedded within the main plot, which makes it even more interesting.

Warrior

Binge it here: Netflix

Not the most popular opinion, but Warrior is definitely categorized under TV shows like Yellowstone. The story centers around Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) as he journeys from China to San Francisco in the 1870 to look for his sister and follows his involvement with the Chinese mafia. Both series showcase bloody violence, dramatic and secret relationships, and the superiority of money and reputation.
