In an iconic episode of People TV’s Celebrity Astrology Investigation, celebrity astrologer Aliza Kelly did a deep dive into the Kardashians’ family tree and astrological charts. Everyone who is into the sun, moon, and rising concept is curious about one thing with the royal family of reality TV: Was their success written in the stars?
“Our parents had the Kennedys, and we have the Kardashians.”
Everybody knows the Kardashians. Even if you don’t want to know anything about them, you can’t escape them. The media is all over them. Every move they make creates noise and grabs headlines.
At one point, it felt like we were all just living in their world. (Although now, their popularity is lowkey on a decline as people have grown exhausted of them. They’re not as relevant as they used to be.)
So, how did they get to this level of success?
The Kardashians’ road to fame, as we all know it, was paved by three things: the late Robert Kardashian, several rounds of nepotism, and the attention on Kim Kardashian. However, the ultimate force that drove the family to the top of Hollywood’s food chain is none other than momager Kris Jenner.
It all began with Robert, a bigshot lawyer who became famous for being on the legal defense team of football player O.J. Simpson. He and Kris had four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob. They divorced in 1991, but his name definitely built them an already good life and set them up for success.
Kris then married Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner), and they had two kids, Kendall and Kylie.
In 2003, Kim started getting traction with her association with It Girl Paris Hilton. She appeared on The Simple Life as the actress’ assistant. She was also papped partying alongside Paris, earning her the nickname ‘pretty brunette friend.’
Then in 2007, Kim’s sex tape with then boyfriend, R&B singer Ray J, was leaked online. She sued the video’s distributor and later received an out-of-court settlement. The whole thing blew up, and that attention helped land them their reality TV series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK), which premiered on E! In October 2007.
From there, momma Jenner took the reins and reigned. She created a human brand, from carefully choreographed moves and constant photo-readiness down to the different business ventures; she made an ordinary family into a royal reality TV star. Even though they’ve had their share of controversies and backlash, they have managed to sustain their status for over a decade.
‘Written in the Stars’
Now, we break down the Kardashian-Jenner family and their astrological charts with Aliza Kelly to see if part of that success has already been written in their stars.
Kris Jenner – ♏sun, ♋moon, and ♍rising
First up is the family matriarch. As Kelly always says, Scorpios are like the character Darth Vader, dark and cloaked in mystery. They are ‘elusive puppet masters’ who make money moving quietly behind the scenes. “And if there’s one thing we know about this family, it’s that the devil works hard, but Kris Jenner works harder.”
Of course, it’s true. As Forbes noted, “Back then Jenner, at age 51, forever changed the reality TV landscape with the October 14, 2007, premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians on the E! Network.” Even more impressive was that the show ran for 20 seasons with a total of 285 episodes when it ended in 2021.
We agree with Kelly. She is truly the modern-day momager that every multi-billion dollar family needs.
Her Cancer moon also pointed toward the momager direction as the sign is closely associated with themes that relate to motherhood. So, this is not up for argument: Kris Jenner’s matriarch-mogul path has long been written in her stars.
Robert Kardashian – ♓sun, ♒moon, and ♑rising
According to Kelly, the late Robert Kardashian’s chart speaks to “a very intense, perhaps very otherworldly presence.” It’s so intense that it continues to strongly influence and impact his family.
Kris might be carrying the name Jenner now, but she was and remained to be a Kardashian in legacy. Additionally, their children who bear his name have benefited greatly from the fruits of his labor.
Kourtney Kardashian – ♈sun, ♑moon, and ♓rising
The eldest of the Kardashian siblings, Kourtney has always been known to give no f*cks. That is a hundred percent showcasing her fiery Aries sign. However, Kelly noted that Kourtney’s sharp, sarcastic tongue leans more on her Capricorn moon.
As for her soft and ethereal aura, that is her dreamy Pisces Rising working. Though that didn’t work out really well for her as this sign and placement have a mutable nature.
It was that side of her that appealed to Scott Disick. We all know their story, and it didn’t end well. As Kelly shared, “I can’t imagine that she ever felt particularly safe or anchored in that dynamic.”
That said, it looks like Kourtney found a really good match with her current partner, Travis Barker. Their relationship is what Kelly called ‘grounded through its fixed and cardinal energy.’
Kim Kardashian – ♎sun, ♓moon, and ♐rising
If Kourtney is known for giving no f*cks, Kim has gotten attention for her star-studded dating profile. It includes music producer Damon Thomas, rapper Ray J, actor/singer Nick Lackey, actor/rapper Nick Cannon, former NFL player Reggie Bush, another former NFL athlete Miles Austin, Australian bodyguard Shengo Deane, model Gabriel Aubry, former NBA player Kris Humphries, rapper Kanye West, and comedian Pete Davidson.
It is something that is apparently explained by her astrological chart. Kelly pointed out that as a Libra, balance, harmony, and partnerships were absolute essentials in her life. Even her wide range of types in men – or the lack thereof – also speaks to her sign. The nature of air signs is being open-minded and unafraid to try something new.
For Kim, it’s like, if we vibe, we vibe. Nothing more.
Khloé Kardashian – ♋sun, ♊moon, and ♒rising
“Like her sisters, Khloé’s sun is a cardinal sign, which is very much inspired by initiation and action,” Kelly shares. The interesting part about her chart is that she is a mix of water and air. That means she can switch back and forth from being super sensitive to super detached.

Another interesting bit is that her two most public relationships, Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson, also share the same chart as hers. They’re like what Kelly noted as ‘strange, mystical mirrors of self.’
That is probably the more plausible reason why, from an outside perspective, these relationships looked like they couldn’t possibly work. But they did, at least for some time, before the whole thing got chaotic.
Kendall Jenner – ♏sun, ♈moon, and ♈rising
The elder Jenner takes after both her parents, Kris and Caitlyn, who are both Scorpio suns. So, she has the same intense, secretive, and mysterious nature. It is why compared to her half-sisters, she is way more private about her relationships. Of course, we still know the who, but that’s it. The next thing we would know is when it breaks off.
As an Aries, she holds a lot of Mars energy – confident, driven, and action-oriented. So one thing is for sure: you wouldn’t want to see this sign angry.
Kylie Jenner – ♌sun, ♏moon, and ♑rising
The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner is the only Leo Sun in the family, Kylie Jenner. That Leo energy translates to a strong desire to be a queen. According to Kelly, that means, “She’s going to work extremely hard to make that happen and by any means unnecessary,” which she really did.
