Unquestionably, Elvis Presley is one of the greatest artists of all time, as he made countless hit tunes that everyone adored. Even after his passing, he was still regarded as the King of rock & roll. Throughout the years, he was able to date a total of six wonderful women. Ginger Alden is regarded as the King’s last love. Despite the setbacks in their relationship, considering Presley’s inner circle didn’t really like her as much, the King still proposed to her. The incident makes Alden the second woman to whom Elvis Presley proposed, apart from his then-wife Priscilla.
They had quite a complicated relationship. Other than the fact that Presley’s circle didn’t approve of her, their age gap was also a subject of question. Alden was only 20 years old, while Presley was already 41 when they dated.
However, despite all those, after two months of dating, the two have officially announced that they are already engaged. Moreover, Presley’s proposal ring to Alden was reported to cost $30,000.
As of 2023, many still wonder if the rumors of her selling her engagement ring were real. The only certain thing there is that there were no official statements or reports regarding the ring’s whereabouts or if it was sold.
Although their relationship is quite intense, Alden doesn’t think of it that much as she sees Presley as her “soulmate.” Their relationship, however, ended in the most unexpected way possible. On August 16, 1977, Alden’s world turned the other way around when she discovered Presley’s dead body in his bathroom. They have dated from 1976 to 1977.
He was already 42 at that time. It was reported that he died of a heart attack, likely brought on by his addiction to prescription barbiturates. His death affected Alden in many ways. Upon his death, one of Presley’s relatives, his uncle Vester explained to the press that their family was “not interested in her” because “she took advantage of Elvis’ name.”
Vester even went so far as to claim that for them, Ginger Alden is no longer alive in the eyes of the family. They don’t even acknowledge her as a person. It only demonstrates that Presley’s relatives initially did not like her. She reportedly received a restriction on visiting Elvis Presley’s Graceland as a result.
The Presley estate was also sued by Alden’s mother, Jo Laverne Alden because Elvis had agreed to pay off her mortgage. As a result, she gradually develops a distance from Presley’s family.

Although it was quite hard for her to express her feelings at that time, Alden states, it was not easy for her to reminisce on the wonderful memories especially knowing the people in it are already gone. When the news about Lisa Presley’s passing away was reported, Alden was one of the people who were extremely saddened by the heartbreaking news.
“My time with Lisa Marie was unique for me and special. I grew to care deeply for her and felt the same from her. We didn’t have years together, but it was quality time spent for sure when she visited Elvis and me at Graceland as a young child in 77 and was able to join us on some tours and visit with me at my family home.” Alden continued.
She also reminisces about their time together by stating, “I will always remember riding in the golf cart with Lisa at her father’s home, something she loved so very much, and taking her to good “ole” McDonalds for a burger.”
She also stated that she remembers the happy memories that the three of them loved going to Libertyland to hop on some rides. Alden ended the touching obituary post by saying that Lisa is now close to her father and that she will miss her and really wishes they had spoken later in life. May Lisa now rest in peace, she concluded.
It demonstrates that although Alden didn’t get along well with Presley’s friends and family, at least she had developed tight bonds with one of Presley’s closest loved ones, Lisa Marie.
