Meet All Five Of Harrison Ford’s Grown-Up Kids

Actor Harrison Ford isn’t only a cultural icon and a proud father to five kids.

He first became a parent in 1966 when he welcomed his first child, Benjamin, with his first wife, illustrator Mary Marquardt. They then welcomed their second son three years later.

At the time, Ford had only started acting, and it wasn’t until a few years later that he would earn his big break as Hans Solo in one of the now biggest movie franchises, “Star Wars.”

In 1976, he met his second wife, Melissa Mathison, on the set of “Apocalypse Now.” He played the role of Col. G. Lucas while Mathison was a production assistant. But it wasn’t until 1982 that they started dating. The couple had two children, Malcolm and Georgia, born in 1987 and 1990, respectively.

Then, in 2002, Ford met his now-wife, Calista Flockhart, at the Golden Globes, where he was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award. They dated for seven years before finally tying the knot. She has an adopted son named Liam, who Ford took in as his own following their marriage.

Let’s finally meet them one by one.

Benjamin Ford

Ford was only 25 when he welcomed his oldest son, Benjamin, on September 22, 1966. He was a rookie actor starting his career with his very first film, “Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round.”

Ben grew up playing baseball, though sadly, he had to drop it after suffering from an injury. However, that turned out to be a pivotal moment that led him to where he is right now: an acclaimed chef and restaurateur and one of Southern California’s brightest culinary stars.

In fact, he owns the gastropub Ford’s Filling Station. He is also a celebrity who appeared in several shows, including Iron Chef America, Jaime Oliver’s Food Revolution, and Martha Stewart.

Sharing his early days in culinary with CBS This Morning in 2015, he said that he picked up a couple of his mom’s Jacques Pépin videos and kitchen knives and went on his way to San Francisco. He started beating at back doors, doing it the old-fashioned style.

Ben Ford is married to Emily, and they have two kids named Ethan and Waylon. He and his dad are close, and he would sometimes showcase their moments. According to the celebrity chef, Ford taught him resiliency as a young father. He also gave him the courage to pursue his dreams.

Willard Ford

Three years after having Ben, Willard arrived in Ford’s life. He was born on May 14, 1969, and just like his older brother, he is now an entrepreneur.

Initially, he took up American Studies in university but ultimately ended up in the entrepreneurial business. He used to own Kim Sing Theatre, which was mainly used as a showroom and event space.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Willard shared that they had launch events for BMW in the theatre and did corporate events for brands like Pepsi. It also hosted occasions for the Grammys and his dad’s film “Star Wars.”

He also had several businesses, including the Ludwig Clothing Company and the LA-based gym Strong Sports Gym, which has since been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As for his personal life, he has two children, namely Eliel and Guiliana.

Malcolm Ford

Ford’s first son with his second wife, Melissa Mathison, arrived on March 10, 1987. Yes, he has an 18-year age gap with Willard and is two decades younger than Ben. However, the large age gap served as an advantage rather than a disadvantage for the actor.

Speaking with The Independent, he said, “My older children have taught me a lot. I reckon I’m a little better at [parenting] now.”

Unlike his brothers, Malcolm followed in his father’s footsteps. He entered the entertainment industry but decided to be a musician instead of pursuing the actor path.

In 2013, he shared with Interview Magazine that he didn’t have the same childhood as others who grew up with music playing in the house. His mom sometimes had Wagner on, but his first dive was into punk music.

“My first cassette was Green Jellÿ. That was the band I was really into,” he said.

Malcolm became the lead singer of the alternative/indie band The Dough Rollers, who opened for Bob Dylan, Queens of Stone Age, and many more. Among his bandmates was a fellow actor’s son, Jack Byrne (Ellen Barkin and Gabriel Byrne).

Georgia Ford

The actor welcomed his fourth child and only daughter, Georgia, on June 30, 1990.

Georgia suffered from seizures as a kid, and it took quite some time for her to be properly diagnosed with epilepsy. Ford shared this in a 2016 speech at NYU Langone Medical Center’s event for Epilepsy and Seizures. After that, her doctor prescribed her the right medications and therapy, which helped manage her condition.

Ford also admired Georgia’s perseverance, talent, and strength. “She’s my hero. I love her.” In honor and support of epilepsy research, he auctioned off the jacket he wore in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” with bids starting at $15,000 at IfOnly.com. A total of 50 people bid for the jacket, and was ultimately sold for $191,000!

Liam Lockhart Ford

His last and youngest child is Liam, whom he adopted shortly after he tied the knot with his now-wife, Calista Flockhart. Liam isn’t actually Flockhart’s biological son. She adopted him back in 2001 before she even met Ford.

When Ford was asked about raising a child again (as his children were all adults then), he simply said it wasn’t his first rodeo. While he was getting older, it felt like he was a father to a kid.

If anything, he was grateful for the wonderful opportunity to see him grow up, which he fondly called “endless springtime.” He saw the whole process of growing, nurturing, blossoming, and, of course, the payoff.

He was thankful to his wife for bringing a child back home. As he noted, being a parent made him “just a bit less self-centered.”

In 2020, Ford and Lockhart dropped him off at college, but this was unlike any other experience. That’s because the actor flew him to school using his own private plane!

Admittedly, Harrison Ford said he would’ve probably been a parent if he had been less successful. That said, it seemed like everything worked out well. His kids have all definitely grown successful in their own paths.
