Lizzo Preaches “Free Yourself In Love” With A Fully Nude Clip Of Herself On Instagram

That post also came with a strong and thoughtful message advocating self-love.

In her caption, she wrote, “If you love me… you love all of me. You don’t get to pick and choose.” She then continued that we should love others unconditionally, and to do that, we should start with ourselves. She also urged all her fans and followers to take a moment and think about what’s keeping them from enjoying the freedom of true love.

She ended her message with a strong encouragement to free ourselves in love because we deserve it.

As of writing, her bare video has already amassed almost four million views and earned a lot of love. There were a lot of comments hyping her up with fire emojis because the “slaying” was undeniable. One of those was model Tess Holliday who commented not just one fire emoji but six.

After dropping everyone’s jaw, the singer then posted a photo still from her video captioned, “Art.” Indeed, it was.

Being A Champion Of Body-Positivity

Lizzo has always been a champion of the body positivity movement. However, it comes with challenges like anything that disrupts society’s norms. Admittedly, the singer has been at the receiving end of some backlash.

In August 2021, following the release of her song featuring Cardi B titled “Rumors,” she hopped on Instagram Live and shared how the criticisms about her image had been affecting her.

According to her, for the most part, it didn’t hurt her when people said something mean about her because she just didn’t care. She also knew that no matter how much positive energy she put into the world, some people wouldn’t respond kindly to her. So, she never really expected that everyone would like her music.

That said, it was different when she was working hard. Her tolerance and patience get lower, and she gets more sensitive. “And it gets me,” she voiced out. She couldn’t accept the comments about her body and Black women like her.

She said, “It’s fatphobic, it’s racist, and it’s hurtful. What I won’t accept is y’all doing this to Black women over and over and over again, especially us big Black girls. When we don’t fit into the box that you want to put us in, you just unleash hatred onto us.”

After her 12-minute live, Lizzo also took to Twitter to share words of encouragement. She wrote that it takes a lot of self-awareness to love oneself in a world that doesn’t love back. “If u managed to love yourself today I’m proud of u. If u haven’t, I’m still proud of u. This shits hard.”

If you’re needing an extra boost to love yourself, then take one from Lizzo’s courage to post her nude body on the Internet.
