The issue started when ‘Married at First Sight’ stars Johnny and Bao did not find their happy ending. In a clear statement, Johnny states his regret about his match, stating that he wished he had been ‘matched with literally anyone else.’
Johnny specifically mentioned his dissatisfaction with his assigned partner, emphasizing his feelings of disappointment and frustration. In a short glimpse of the show, Johnny and Bao are seen having an intense talk with Pastor Cal Roberson. Johnny states his opinion regarding Bao’s true intentions. He shared with the pastor that he felt like Bao was not genuine as she may seem.

As the issue continues to grow, viewers quickly analyze Johnny’s reasons for regretting his match, and it seems like they notice that it doesn’t make any sense at all.
Now that the viewers are starting to question Johnny’s real ‘intentions’ towards Bao instead, Johnny quickly reasons out that many factors affected his decision, including compatibility issues, communication problems, and contrasting personalities.
According to Johnny, Bao isn’t doing enough in the relationship. He also states that Bao keeps lying about what she does whenever they’re around the other couples on the show, which shows what kind of person she really is.
In a statement, he stated that he feels like Bao is constantly giving him excuses on why she hasn’t done things, and all that he is asking is for her to do things all by herself. On the other hand, Bao immediately cuts Johnny, saying that his statements were nowhere true at all.
Pastor Cal then states that Johnny is being slightly unfair to Bao. Like most viewers, Pastor Cal seems to see Johnny as someone who is just making excuses to free himself from their relationship.

As a result, the Pastor then asks Johnny if he is in a relationship with someone other than Bao. This made everyone flip in shock; the same goes for Bao.
That’s why it seems like Johnny’s regret might potentially lead to tension and conflict, as it already sparks speculation and discussion among viewers.
Pastor Cal then explains that in his career in counseling, he can already tell when someone’s attention is divided, and he can say that Johnny is trying to sort of sabotage a situation. As a result, he only asks for Johnny to be honest with his partner and the show’s viewers.
However, this was not the first time that Johnny did this to Bao since it was reported that he did ghost her once, way back when they were still in college. It shows that the two have already struggled to transition from acquaintances to husband and wife, even in their initial encounter.
