Mary Tyler Moore and Dr. Robert Levine stayed committed to each other even down to her final moments. The American actress was taken to the hospital in 2017. It was because she was getting sicker due to her pneumonia from the complications she had with her type 1 diabetes, a disease the actress had suffered when she was still a young woman.
Dr. Robert Levine’s first marriage became his last and only one. He tried his best to keep his wife healthy throughout, which resulted in her living a long life. The actress peacefully passed away at 80 in the hospital, surrounded by her friends, family, and beloved husband.
In an interview with People magazine, Dr. Robert Levine said his parting words to his wife. He told them how much Mary Tyler Moore truly meant to him, calling her his “life,” “light,” and most importantly, his “love.”
