Amy Mcbride, now known as Amy Mickelson, was born in 1972 in California. She had gone to Arizona State University, where she was a Phoenix High Cheerleading squad member.
Amy had met her future husband in the same place she attended. Funnily enough, she had a bit of a misunderstanding when she found out about Phil’s career for the first time, as she had thought he worked in a golf shop. Amy’s family weren’t big fans of golf. She didn’t know a lot about the sport until she met her husband because her family is composed of tennis fans.
Though the couple would have their first date on the tennis court, their relationship stayed strong until now. The pair would then proceed to get married on November 16, 1996.

Amy would get diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, in which Phil paused his participation in the PGA tour to help care for his wife. It also caused fans to wonder where his wife was, but she could not come due to her sickly state. Luckily, he didn’t have to put his career on hold for a long time because Phil Mickelson’s wife’s cancer was discovered early; therefore, it was treatable.
However, life would throw another hurdle at them. Phil was diagnosed with illnesses that he would have to deal with for the rest of his life, Psoriasis, and Psoriatic Arthritis in 2010.
The way they are willing to care for each other and never give up despite everything that happened proves they are a powerful couple.

Amy Mickelson now has three wonderful children with her husband. She has been active as a co-founder in Phil and Amy’s foundation, called Birdies For The Brave.
It is an organization that supports the United States Army Forces together with their families. They also launched another foundation called the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation, which seeks to help family initiatives and support the youth.
She had also been incredibly supportive of her husband in his career, especially when he got suspended from the PGA Tour and the Master’s Tournament. It was after getting accused of attempting to recruit players for LIV Golf. The controversy caused Phil Mickelson to disappear from the public scene as he received plenty of community backlash.
