Ralphie May, known for his TV appearances on Inside Amy Schumer and his Netflix and Comedy Central specials, died on October 6, 2017. His body was found at a private residence in Las Vegas just hours after he performed on stage at Harrah’s, which was part of his booked performances for his residency for the rest of the year.

Six weeks before his untimely demise, he caught pneumonia. He was forced to cancel dates in the middle of his nationwide tour in an effort to recover. He was 45 years of age.

It was a sad moment for the entertainment industry, especially since he was just crowned Casino Comedian of the Year at the Global Gaming Expo in Vegas two days before it happened.

Judi Marmel spoke with TMZ and shared how she would miss him not only as a manager but also as his friend. “I will miss his laugh, his generosity to fellow comedians, his trademark orneriness, and his enormous love of life,” she said.

She also continued, saying that it was definitely too soon. “We can only wonder where his comedy might have taken all of us,” she continued. She then ended her message by sending her love to the late comedian’s family, friends, and all the comics who shared the stage with him throughout his career.

John Fudenberg, Clark County’s coroner, ruled that hypertensive cardiovascular disease was the official cause of death. He also added that May’s weight was a contributing factor to his death.

The coroner also clarified that there were no drugs or alcohol found in his system. “The manner of his death was natural,” Fudenberg reported. The coroner’s office also extended their condolences to May’s family and friends.

The contents of Ralphie May’s will was revealed two months after his death.

As per the court documents obtained by The Blast, everything in his name, including furniture, silver, paintings, automobiles, and clothing, will be turned over to his wife. He also named her executor of his will, and she was also set to receive the residue and remainder of May’s estate. The value of which, at the time, was undetermined.

As for custody of their two children, April and August, May also expressed that they should have “extensive visitation” with their grandparents. According to reports, May changed his mind three times regarding his will as to whom he should grant custody of his kids in case he and his wife passed away simultaneously or one of them passed away before the other.

May and Turner got married on July 3, 2005, but after ten years of marriage, they decided to file for divorce. Unfortunately, their papers weren’t finalized at the time of his death.
