No one can do slush better than Sonic, and last summer of 2022, they collaborated with Sour Patch for a limited-edition flavor to remember.
The menu item in question was the Sour Patch Kids Slush Float, an epic mashup frozen treat created by combining Sour Patch Kids watermelon flavor slush with sweet vanilla ice cream. It’s a “sour then sweet” treat that will truly melt the tongue. It also had the brand’s signature chewy candy, making the experience even more memorable.

The fast food chain started rolling it out on May 30. Sonic app users were given a special privilege: early access (a week in advance) to try the summer delight for $2.99 (for a medium). The new drink was available until July 31,
Like all Sonic drinks, part of the proceeds of the new drink will be collected for donation to SONIC’s foundation, Limeades for Learning, which supports teachers and education efforts nationwide.
The Sour Patch collaboration wasn’t the only limited edition item to drop on Sonic’s menu that summer. In August, they released the banana pudding shake.
It was a heavenly combination of ice cream, fresh bananas, banana pudding flavor, and actual NILLA wafers. On top of the whole thing was whipped cream, crumbled cookies, and, of course, a cherry.

Aside from the limited-edition flavors, they also launched hard seltzers inspired by their signature slushes. They partnered with COOP Ale Works, a fellow Oklahoma City-based brand, to craft the first line.
You may have missed Sonic’s Sour Patch slush collaboration, but there’s no reason to be sad. Every year, they come up with something new and fresh. So always stay tuned!
