‘Teen Mom OG’ is a hit reality TV show on the MTV network. The show stars individuals like Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Edwards as they face their first stages of parenthood. The show is quite a hit with many people, as they can relate to some of the stars’ experiences.

Sources report that Ryan Edwards joined the show way back in 2009. He is one of the OG stars in the said series. During that time, he starred as the father of Maci Bookout’s son, Bentley. Their relationship didn’t last that long, as the two had continued fights and arguments throughout the show.
Maci has struggled to find a way to co-parent with Ryan as their relationship reaches its downfall, as seen in the clips aired for years on the hit MTV show. However, if fans thought that it was the end when the two split up, little did they know that it would only grow worse in the coming years as Ryan slowly gets addicted to using drugs.
Although his addictions didn’t really affect his relationship with Bentley and Maci, it did make Mackenzie, his second partner, suffer the most. Mackenzie and Ryan met each other accidentally in 2016 when Mackenzie was leaving the gym. Just eight months later, they got engaged and eventually tied the knot.

Unlike other weddings, the one that Ryan and Mackenzie had seemed too controversial. Even their fans started criticizing them for their behavior before and during the event. The whole incident was caught on cam, with Ryan driving himself and Mackenzie to their first round of nuptials while under the influence.
Mackenzie didn’t know that Ryan was under the influence at that time. She even asked Ryan if he had taken any anxiety medication that day, which he denied. Although the couple did reach the reception on time safely and managed to exchange their sacred vows, people were still furious at how they acted.
Aside from that, Mackenzie has also been heavily criticized by viewers for tolerating her partner. However, she did explain in 2022, a few years after the incident, that during that time, she was young, confused, and nervous.

Through the years, they were able to build a family of their own. After they married, Ryan and Mackenzie welcomed two children, a son named Jagger in 2018 and a daughter they named Stella in 2020.

Sources say that Ryan started using substances in 2017 when he got arrested two months before his wedding to Mackenzie. This arrest was followed by many more, and all of them for the same reason in the coming months and years.
Although he explained months later that he had already entered a treatment facility, it seems like this treatment isn’t really doing anything at all, as he got caught up in another arrest in 2018 for heroin possession. Although his charges were dismissed, this served as his second arrest and was reported to have been a major factor in Mackenzie’s pregnancy with their son Jagger.
Then again, about a year later, in 2019, Ryan was arrested for the third time for theft and heroin possession. He was again released from jail after being allowed to post bail.
Cheating Allegations That Led to Their Divorced
In early 2023, viewers quickly noticed that Ryan seemed to accuse Mackenzie of cheating. The rumors sparked when Ryan accused Mackenzie of “laying with dogs,” as he stated on her Instagram.
In the comment, he stated that he’s not proud of being married to someone who stays in bars and goes home with other guys. He also emphasizes that Mackenzie really likes to blame it all on his addiction. That’s why he thinks divorce is the right thing to do now.
A “Cheaters & Cheating Quotes” meme was also shared on his own account that states, “I trusted you, but now your words mean nothing to me because your actions spoke the truth.” As the rumors flood in, and the topic is making headlines everywhere, Ryan has decided to delete his own post and comments after a while.
On the other hand, Mackenzie has also shared a cryptic quote on her Instagram that says she used to want to protect her name. However, she just wants to protect her peace and will let anyone think whatever they think of her. If they want to believe in all that Ryan has stated, they can, and she doesn’t care anymore.
After weeks of accusing his wife, Ryan seems to want Mackenzie back. However, Ryan continuously attacks his wife online when things don’t go as he wants them to.

Following that nerve-wracking incident, Mackenzie officially filed a divorce in 2023. She was granted custody of her children and a restraining order. On the other hand, Ryan was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail as he pleaded guilty to the harassment charge against him.
