Jack Moynahan, born John Edward Thomas Moynahan, is the son of the famed NFL quarterback Tom Brady with actress Bridget Moynahan. The former couple welcomed him back in 2007, and the young Moynahan is undeniably his dad’s mini-me. He didn’t just get his good looks but also his top-tier athletic genes.
Jack started exploring and playing several sports as a kid. However, football seems to be a growing favorite of his in his teenage years. Of course, his dad felt excited about it.
According to Brady, “Getting out there and watching him play has been so much fun for me. And I don’t give a s— how well he does.” To him, it was all about seeing his child enjoy the sport with friends.
Well, who knows? Maybe we’re looking at the next-generation Brady-level quarterback on the football field.
Baby Arriving: Jack Brady
Jack was born on August 22, 2007, at St. John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica, California, to parents Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady. He came in as quite a surprise for Moynahan and Brady, as they had already broken up by the time they knew about him. His dad was also in a new relationship with supermodel Gisele Bündchen when the news broke out.
In an interview with Brady, he said that the pregnancy came at a unique time, and the situation challenged him to grow up differently. He also acknowledged its impact on his ex-partner Moynahan, saying that it was as challenging for her because ‘she didn’t envision it either.’
Of course, the quarterback also knew it was a tough moment for his then-girlfriend to discover that her boyfriend was about to have a baby with his ex.
Nevertheless, they all took it in stride. In a statement released by Brady’s agent Don Yee, he said that Brady and his family were excited about the pregnancy. A friend of Moynahan’s shared with PEOPLE how excited she was, knowing she would be a great mom. Bündchen ultimately decided to stay with Brady throughout the process and for the next 16 years and two kids of their own. (They divorced in late 2022.)
When Jack finally arrived, Brady wasn’t in the delivery room holding Moynahan’s hand as she pushed. But according to the actress, he did come on the day – skipped practice and flew all the way (thanks to Patriots owner Robert Kraft who reportedly lent him a private jet) to meet and welcome their son.

Tom Brady’s son was definitely surrounded by so much love growing up.
Jack primarily lived with his mom, but he always had time to share with his dad, stepmom, and family on the other side. Unlike the stories the media loved to spin about Moynahan’s co-parenting setup with Brady and Bündchen (especially her relationship with her ex’s wife), she said they get along just fine.
In her interview, she said, “The media creates these dramas, and that’s not what’s happening in my life.”
In fact, Bündchen has built a very special relationship with Bridget Monyhan’s son over the years.
Initially, she considered leaving Brady after learning about his kid. However, she ended up seeing it through, and she was very grateful that she stayed.
According to the model, she couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child. (She refers to him as her ‘bonus child’ and not stepkid because, for her, she is Jack’s bonus mom – an addition and not a replacement or anything else.)
Even after her divorce from Brady, she continued to support Jack. In an interview last March 2023, she opened up about how she always dreamed of being a mom, and Jack arriving into their life a little quicker than her plan was a blessing in her life.
Jack also has fostered a very close relationship with his younger brother Benjamin.
Benjamin is Brady and Bündchen’s eldest kid and was born two years after Jack. Bündchen shared that the boys have been very close since the beginning.
Benjamin sees his big brother as his hero, and he always wears a big smile whenever Jack comes in. He loves following him around and is always in awe of whatever he does. Their little sister Vivian, also known as Vivi, arrived in 2012.

Tom Brady’s son Jack definitely inherited his quarterback dad’s genes. He started playing sports at an early age, and soccer was one sport that he took a liking in. His mom shared back in 2017 on Live with Kelly his ambition to become a professional soccer player.
She also revealed that after watching the Olympics, he suddenly shifted his interest to swimming and winning the gold medal, just like Michael Phelps. So, his mom theorized that he maybe just likes the awards.
When Jack entered high school, he returned to football and played as his team’s quarterback. Tom Brady loved seeing him play and admitted it is one of his life’s greatest highlights, especially since he didn’t expect Jack to follow in his footsteps as he also showed a lot of interest in other sports.
In his interview in October 2022 for an episode of the SiriusXM podcast, he said, “You know, I don’t have a lot of specialties in life other than probably throwing the football. He’s just a great kid. But I can definitely help him at quarterback.”
Brady could already see his son’s potential: great hand-eye coordination and better moves than he did at that age. Nevertheless, he’s not putting any pressure on his son, and he’s simply happy to see him enjoy the sport with friends and build camaraderie.
Father-Son Bonding
Aside from football, Tom Brady and his son Jack enjoy playing other sports together.
In August 2021, Brady posted a throwback photo of him and Jack on a golf course for his 14th birthday. He said in his caption that he couldn’t wait to kick his butt on the golf course again soon. The duo also engaged in a healthy basketball competition. The retired NFL player teased his son, saying, “Dad still wins for now. I don’t love my chances next year though.”
They also have some fun together. In October 2021, Brady confessed that he brought then-11-year-old Jack to party with Snoop Dogg. According to his story, it was midnight, and Snoop had a pole and girls – who were clarified to be clothed – on the stage.
Jack had his eyes open and was listening to music when Brady told him to cover his eyes. The football player joked that if Jack told Moynahan, he wouldn’t be able to see him for a long time. Snoop just laughingly replied and told the kid to keep what had happened under his hat.
In August 2021, Tom Brady’s son John Edward Thomas Moynahan, signed up as a ball boy for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the summer. That was his first league job and probably not the last.
