The Bachelor alum Madison Prewett’s husband, Grant Troutt, is nothing short of a romantic. When the couple got engaged in August 2022, Troutt pulled out all the stops – from creating the most extravagant setup at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, to the ring (which was Prewett’s dream) and even down to the dress that Prewett wanted to be asked the question of her lifetime – “Will you marry me?” – in. If that’s not enough, he even gifted her a customized Bible with her name on it!
So, lo and behold, the result was a Pinterest-perfect record of one of the most important moments of their life.
So, who is this guy? Let’s get to know him.
Who is Grant Troutt?

Grant Michael Troutt was born on March 5, 1996, in Dallas, Texas, to billionaire father Kenny Trout (who owns the elite 2,400-acre thoroughbred horse farm in Versailles, Kentucky, called Winstar Farm, and founder of Texas-based telecommunications company called Excel Communications) and mother Lisa E. Copeland. He has two siblings: Preston and Savannah Troutt.
He also grew up in Dallas, where he attended the Episcopal School of Dallas for high school. During his time there, he played both basketball and football. His favorite athlete is fellow Texan Johnny Manziel, who plays quarterback.
A bit of trivia about him: He loves Star Wars and Lord of the Rings! (Definitely a man of culture.)
In 2015, he got recruited to be a basketball athlete (guard position) for the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) on a full scholarship. Unfortunately, as per his university bio, he sustained a hip injury and was sidelined for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Additionally, he suffered medical complications and didn’t make the season-opening road trip with the Gauchos and ultimately retired. He hoped to major in business economics at UCSB.
Following his retirement, he transferred to the Southern Methodist University to continue his studies. According to his LinkedIn page, during that time, he also worked as an assistant basketball coach for Link Year in Springfield, Missouri.
He also interned for Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky, and JMI Realty in San Diego, California. Troutt finally graduated in 2019. After graduating, he entered the corporate world as Summer Analyst for Blue Star Innovation Partners in Frisco, Texas.
Outside his career, Grant Troutt is known for being a man of faith. In his very first post on Instagram, dated February 6, 2020, he talked about how his life over the past years had been through highs and lows. He realized that Jesus was the only thing that could ever satisfy his heart.
In one of his lengthy captions, he wrote, “His love captured me in my darkest moments and I was met with a smile and a love that changed everything.” He also openly shares and documents his journey in his other posts.
Aside from Instagram, Troutt also opened up about it on Zach Clinton’s The Built Different Podcast.
Meeting Madison Prewett
Troutt had a very nerve-wracking first date with Prewett.
Recalling the night, Prewett said that Troutt had forgotten to open her car door as they were both very nervous. But during dinner, things calmed down a bit.
In fact, they even barely touched their quesadillas as they were preoccupied with getting to know each other through deep conversations and intentional questions. Then they ended the date riding around for hours and listening to Drake on full blast.
Then just five months later, in May 2022, they made their relationship Instagram official.
Prewett first became popular for participating in Peter Weber’s Bachelor season, which aired back in 2020. She earned runner-up, with Hannah Ann Sluss as the winner. After Weber and Sluss’ engagement ended, Prewett reconciled with Weber though it was only for a brief time.

The man who now works as a speaker to athletes and church ministers didn’t take long to propose. Three months after their relationship announcement (and just days before their nine-month anniversary), he got on one knee and asked Prewett to marry him.
The social media influencer didn’t actually have a clue at all that it would happen that day. She shared that Troutt was initially supposed to come with her and her friends to Florida to celebrate one of their friend’s birthdays, but he got sick and couldn’t come.
At the venue, she was told that they were going to take pictures by the beach, so she came down. Then her best friend led her into a bathroom where her mother and sisters were waiting with the dress – Cult Gaia’s Ophelia Gown, to be exact – that she wanted to wear if ever she got engaged.
At that moment, she knew.
Grant, who was wearing a baby blue suit paired with sneakers, was waiting for her to come out to the beach. There she saw a beautiful setup with candles spread like a heart. Grant then bent his knee and asked for her hand in marriage.
Troutt’s plan changed multiple times but ultimately settled down with the beach idea. He got the whole thing right with the help of family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Troutt
Troutt and Prewett exchanged vows in front of 400 people at the home of Troutt’s parents in Dallas on October 29, 2022.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Prewett said that they chose the location as it was unique and special for them. Of course, they wanted family and friends to share and celebrate the moment with them.
Bachelor Nation favorites like Victoria Fuller, Hannah Ann Sluss, and Kelley Flanagan were in attendance. The classy and luxurious wedding didn’t disappoint with a thousand white roses, a human-sized cake, and two custom bride gowns by Nardos Design.
After the wedding, they enjoyed an extravagant honeymoon down at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Cabo, Mexico. They had a private dinner and enjoyed swimming by the pool and walking down the beach.
