Reason Why Matt James’s Brother Didn’t Take the Bachelor Seriously

The Bachelor is an American dating and romance reality television series premiered in 2002. The plot centers around a single bachelor who is presented with a pool of love interests from which he must choose a bride. Throughout the season, the Bachelor eliminates prospects each week, culminating in a marriage proposal to his final decision.

Matt James, one of the show’s primary cast members, is most recognized for being The Bachelor’s first male African-American lead in season 25. Yet, it was his brother John’s comment about the program that startled people, and not the fact that Matt James was a part of it.

In a podcast guesting he did with the Higher Learning podcast, Matt James’ brother, John, stated, “I had this conversation with my mom,” he added, “I said, ‘This to me is not what I perceive personally as reality and like an actual real dynamic that somebody would experience in everyday life.”

“I couldn’t really take it seriously because who in their right mind could come to a serious conclusion in two-three months for a lifetime decision?” John stated together with his mother, Patty James.

These left everyone curious as to what is the reason behind his remarks. It’s fairly straightforward. It turns out that he had difficulty wrapping his head around the idea that the program does not accord with most people’s preferences. Furthermore, he did not consider The Bachelor a reality, even though it was a reality TV show.

Reality programs have long been suspected of scripting, but this is typically denied. On the other hand, reality TV producers are in charge of cutting and editing what airs; nevertheless, as millions of people saw in “After the Final Rose,” intense emotion, whether real or fabricated, makes for the most riveting entertainment.

Though it is well known that the Bachelor has a major emotional impact on both viewers and cast members, John sees it as a basic show that can be scripted whenever the producers want it.

He absolutely agreed with the popular belief that their mother, Patty James, didn’t want her son to find love and marry. These left fans wondering if Matt James was already doomed from the start to find real love because of his family’s opposition to the show’s premise.

During the conclusion of The Bachelor, John and Patty met Matt’s top two, Michelle Young and Rachael Kirkconnell. While his mother appeared to adore both women, she cautioned her son that love might fade away at any time of the day.

Patty James stated that there is nothing like being in love. It is a wonderful feeling that makes everything okay. Patty can state these words considering she split up with her husband after discovering he cheated on her.

“But you know, people fall in and out of love. And love is not the end-all, be-all.” his mother added.

After some time, Matt informed Chris Harrison that he had no urge to propose. Matt eventually broke up with Michelle and chose Rachael, telling the Georgia native he wanted to date her after the program.

“I’m starting to pump the brakes on if it’s something that I’m ready to commit to right now. I know that the easy thing for me to do would be to tell Rachael and Michelle what they want to hear, and [that] is I’m ready, and I’ve been through with this whole process and get down on one knee and do something that I’m not ready for. And then what happens? It sets off our relationship course on something that neither one of us are ready for.” Matt James spilled.

So, do you think Matt James’ brother and mother didn’t believe he’d find love on the show?

Nevertheless, fans discovered during After the Final Rose that the Wake Forest alum split up with Rachael in February after she made news for her previous racially inappropriate acts. Matt posted about seeking a therapist the day after the finale.

“I called him for that very same reason just to see where his head was at,” John told Rachel Lindsay and Van Lathan about the tweet. “He’s in a good spot. He’s good. People don’t need to worry about Matt.”

John James went on to say that his brother is “going through a detox period” after the show since he erased all of his Instagram photos.

Matt James then stated that of all the issues he was dealing with, being in the spotlight and conducting interviews with ABC,” he stated. “He’s in better hands.”

Reality television causes viewers to see specific ethnicities, sexualities, gender identities, and social classes as normal and everything else as abnormal or erroneous. This has real-world ramifications and influences how we connect with others and perceive ourselves.

Although participation in a program might expose you to new people and help you grow as a person, it is unavoidable that the reality TV show system is broken and has many bad consequences.

It has a negative impact on their general attitude toward life and creates mental discomfort. They become unsatisfied with their achievements and less appreciative of the life they live. This can lead to depressed behaviors in viewers over time.

In the end, Matt James’ brothers’ comments on the popular show The Bachelor are similar to that of the rest of us. Although it is not strictly a hoax, the idea that it has a significant bad or good influence on the participants’ and viewers’ lives is phenomenal.
