Zahara And Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Had Undergone Surgery, But No One Exactly Knows Why

Angelina Jolie did not disclose why Zahara and Shiloh Jolie had surgery. That said, it is endearing that she shows her support towards her daughters publicly and privately.

It’s good to see that the Jolie family still thrives after a devastating separation and eventual lawsuit surrounding the former Hollywood power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It’s safe to say that their family remains as strong as ever.

Angelina had always put her family first. The public never lacks any proof to show that otherwise, and they have come to love the Hollywood actress’s dynamic with her kids. Despite not being related to some of her children by blood, the actress shows there is no need to have the same blood to be a true family.

So that’s why everyone worried when her children, Zahara and the oldest of her biological children, Shiloh Jolie, underwent surgery in 2020, and no one knows what happened.

In March 2020, Angelina Jolie revealed in an article for Time Magazine for International Women’s Day that she had been caring for her daughters as they underwent surgery and have been recovering for the last two months. Of course, she had to mention that her daughters had approved and even encouraged to have any information shared in the article to be public.

Angelina also wrote in the article that one of her daughters underwent hip surgery. Still, she never specified who, but a viral picture confirmed that Shiloh was the one who went under the knife.

The paparazzi’s viral picture showed that Shiloh Jolie was in crutches while Angelina was with her post-surgery. Zahara seemed to have entirely recovered by the time the photo was taken.

That said, Angelina did find a silver lining in her experience with her daughters’ surgeries. She praised the relationship that both of her daughters have with each other. She loved that her daughters were helpful with the nurses, and they knew how to care for each other while achieving a speedier recovery.

It’s good that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s 2020 surgery had no ill effects in the long run. Shiloh’s active dancing participation and frequent outings with family or friends make it look like she didn’t even have hip surgery in the past.

Shiloh is seen doing well and paving her way into the entertainment industry, dominating the field with her killer dance moves. She even joins in some of the projects her parents are up to.

Shiloh has also garnered a lot of fans as she took the internet by storm when she was spotted in 2021 wearing a black dress, accompanying her mother for the Eternals premiere. It certainly shocked the public as she is usually known for androgynous fashion choices.

Shiloh is also known for her close relationship with her father, Bradd Pitt. Despite no longer living in the same house, she is known for being a Daddy’s girl.

In 2023, the duo is still reportedly close as ever despite her parents battling in court for their business rights and custody of their children, which Angelina currently possesses.

Zahara Experienced Racism While She Was Recovering From Her Surgery

Besides, despite Zahara recovering from her surgery, which they chose not to disclose why, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for her. It was not the first time that she had undergone hospitalization.

No one could forget when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie publicly spoke about their state of panic for Zahara when she was still 16 months old in 2006. She had suffered malnutrition and salmonella while she was a toddler.

So it was pretty upsetting when Angelina Jolie also opened up that her daughter, Zahara, who was Ethiopian born, had faced racism while recovering from the surgery.

The nurse told the actress to inform her when her skin turned pink, which the nurse failed to consider because Zahara has dark skin. Angelina pointed out the racial bias of colored people in health care because of how her daughter was treated in the hospital. That was just one of many times that Angelina Jolie’s children were subjected to that mistake.

In 2023, the actress touched on race in medical treatment with people of different ethnicities. She then explained that even if her children have “access to high-quality medical care, simple diagnoses are missed because of race and continued prioritization of white skin in medicine.”

She has discussed the topic of medical practitioners finding a way for people of color to have a more accurate indication of bruising. That is because the current medical technology we have right now only fits lighter-skinned people, and it’s hard for people of darker shades to have their bruises detected. Even though her initial reason for this discussion was for domestic abuse victims, she also included Zahara’s experience during her surgery.

Angelina is an example of a loving and supportive mother. Whether it was helping Zahara and Shiloh Jolie recover from surgery or being an activist for her children of color to feel safer in such a prejudiced society, no one can deny that she loves all her kids wholeheartedly and will do anything to keep them safe.
