2021 was definitely the year for couple Marques Houston and Miya Dickey as they welcomed their first-ever baby, a daughter named Zara.
Houston is a jack of all trades. Aside from being a singer and songwriter, which is what he is mostly known for, he is also an actor on the side, starring in hit shows like “Sister, Sister.”

As his fame grew continuously through the years, it was only natural that his fans would start wanting to keep updated on things about him, especially now that he is already married to his wife, Miya Dickey.
Their relationship has faced quite some controversy, considering Houston started dating Dickey when she was only 18 and he was already 37 years old. On top of that, the couple again received backlash after they decided to get married a year after they started dating.
However, as time passed by, it seems like fans have eventually grown fond of the two. As of this writing, they already share a child, a daughter named Zara Denise Houston.
Zara was born on December 2, 2021, which the couple has happily announced on Instagram. As of 2023, Zara is already two years old. In their Instagram post, the couple explained why they named their daughter Zara.

According to Houston, his wife Dickey felt like the name Zara was exotic and unique. After contemplating, they eventually decided, saying there was no special reason behind it.
Houston added that Dickey also wanted their baby girl to have a memorable name that wasn’t the average name. Houston also expressed that as soon as his daughter was finally born, everything instantly felt so surreal.
The thought that he was no longer babysitting some friend’s child but actually taking care of his own child just felt anxiously exciting. On top of that, he also jokingly stated that “not getting any sleep” reminds him and Dickey that they are now really parents.
Dickey’s pregnancy with Zara was kept private initially, with the couple not publicly announcing their pregnancy on social media. So their fans were surprised after the sudden announcement of Zara’s arrival, but all were excited about it.

Since this is Marques Houston and Miya Dickey’s first baby, it marks a new chapter in their lives as they become parents. Although it will be a hard journey, the couple has been trying their best to become the responsible parents baby Zara could ever ask for.
The couple has never missed to include Zara in every special event they have in life. On Instagram, just like her parents, Zara has been seen rocking each outfit she wore. So, it won’t be surprising if she will become a big star someday.
