Actor and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is a proud father to his five children – two daughters, Katherine and Christina, and three sons, Patrick, Christopher, and Joseph. He shares the first four with his ex-wife Maria Shriver, with whom he was married for 25 years, while the youngest, Joseph, is his son with his longtime housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena.
According to the “Terminator” star, he has a fantastic relationship with all of his kids. Yes, including Joseph, who had been very understanding of the situation.
Schwarzenegger is also officially a granddad! His eldest, Katherine, already has two of her own, Lyla Maria and Eloise Christina. Chatting with Jimmy Kimmel early in 2023, he shared that being a grandpa was the easiest thing to be.
They would come over to his house and then play with them for an hour or two with the horses and the dogs, and then, they’d leave. He jokingly continued, “It’s fantastic! I have a great time when they come over to the house.”
Now, let’s meet the Schwarzeneggers.
Katherine Eunice Schwarzenegger Pratt
Katherine Eunice is the eldest of the five Schwarzeneggers. She’s a highly accomplished author and the wife of the Guardians of the Galaxy’s actor Chris Pratt.
Katherine was born in Los Angeles on December 13, 1989, and named after her maternal grandmother, Eunice Kennedy. Yes, the Kennedys. Eunice was President John F. Kennedy’s younger sister.
Despite her bloodline, she was never interested in a political career. In an interview with PEOPLE back in 2016, she shared that growing up in it, it was either you love it or you hate it, and she was just, “No, thank you!”
Instead, she pursued a career in writing. In 2010, at just 21 years old, she earned herself the highly coveted title of a New York Times best-selling author with her self-help book “Rock What You’ve Got: Secrets to Loving Your Inner and Outer Beauty from Someone Who’s Been There and Back.”

Two years later, she graduated from the University of Southern California and published her second titled “I Just Graduated… Now What?” to help out fellow fresh graduates like her transition into adulthood.
In 2017, she penned a children’s book, “Maverick and Me,” which was about her rescue dog. She has been an active animal rights advocate. She even serves as an ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society ambassador. Then, in 2020, she wrote “The Gift of Forgiveness,” a collection of 22 people’s stories – from their most difficult experiences down to their journey of peace and healing.
Her dad is nothing but proud of her milestones and achievements. He also approved Katherine’s husband, Chris Pratt, calling him “a fantastic guy” and “great son-in-law.”
In 2018, Katherine and Chris first met at church and started dating soon. They wasted no time, and by January, they were engaged. In six months time, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. The couple welcomed their first child and daughter, Lyla, in 2020. Two years later, they had Eloise.
According to the author, as a working woman and a mom of two, she wasn’t afraid to ask for help. Most of what people see on Instagram would be moms doing it all alone, and she wasn’t one of those. She acknowledged that asking for help, in general, was a big struggle for women, especially if they were balancing multiple roles. However, it is and should be completely okay to do so.
During the May 2023 premiere of her father’s Netflix series Fubar, he said that seeing his children grow, earn their degrees, and get jobs was just nice. Seeing them have their own kids and watch them in a new dimension was just fantastic.
He also praised his daughter’s parenting skills, noting how hanging out with her was fun and seeing how she interacted with her kid. “Because she is so great with them,” the actor said.
Katherine is also vocal in appreciating her dad by posting photos and messages for him on her Instagram, with recent ones like Father’s Day 2023 (with her husband Chris Pratt) and his 76th birthday.
Christina Maria Aurelia Schwarzenegger
Christina Maria Aurelia is the actor’s second-born and also his second daughter. While her sister actively advocates for animal rights, she’s a champion of those who feel outside the margin.
Christina arrived on July 23, 1991, in Los Angeles. She earned her bachelor’s degree majoring in English and a minor in art in 2013 from Georgetown University, which was also her mom Maria Shriver’s alma mater.
She then pursued interior architecture, her lifelong passion, at the private art and design college, Parsons School of Design. As for work experience, you might have seen some of her work in Goop, actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, where she served as the editor for all topics related to health and wellness for three years. She also worked for interior design startups.
Adding to her impressive resume is the Special Olympics Founder’s Council, wherein she is a founding member. According to her, she wanted to continue her grandmother’s legacy of helping people who feel they are different by shining a light on their experiences. In turn, this makes them seen, validated, and valued.

In 2018, she and her mom co-executive produced the Netflix documentary Take Your Pills. It touched on her experiences with Adderall’s addiction, shedding light on how the pressure from society contributes to the abuse of this type of controlled substance.
Of course, her dad was beyond proud of her. In his tribute post for his daughter’s 30th, he wrote, “I am so proud of you, from your unbelievable work on enlightening documentaries to giving back by helping Special Olympics to your fantastic artwork that blows mine out of the water.”
He then continued, writing that he enjoyed nothing more than hanging out with her, training, or traveling, and she would always be his Little Leo.
Last April 2020, during quarantine, the actor shared a video of the two of them bonding by polishing his extensive cowboy boot collection.
Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger
Patrick Arnold is the third of the Schwarzenegger siblings and the first to follow in his dad’s footsteps in Hollywood. Well, it’s not too surprising, as he was named after him.
Two years after Christina, on September 18, 1993, Arnold Schwarzenegger welcomed his first son, Patrick. He graduated from the USC Marshall School of Business and pursued a career in Hollywood.
He made his big screen debut in 2006’s “Benchwarmers” – starring David Spade and Rob Schneider – as a cameo (credited as Jock Kid Game #3).
Then, in 2021, he added a film credit with Netflix’s comedy-drama film “MOXiE!” directed by Amy Poehler. He played the role of star jock Mitchell Wilson.
A year later, he starred in HBO Max’s true crime TV miniseries The Staircase as Todd Peterson, the youngest son of crime novelist and protagonist Michael Peterson.
He also participated in Prime Video’s action thriller series The Terminal List, starred in and produced by his brother-in-law Chris Pratt, as the recurring character Donny Mitchell.
According to Patrick, both his parents are proud of him and very supportive of his craft, and he couldn’t ask for a better parent duo. Everything also felt surreal for him because he remembered going to film sets with his dad growing up and how it was his favorite activity. Now, he has become like him.
Whenever he and his dad have free time, they love to work out together. Last April 2020, he joined his dad for a morning ride, which the former Governor posted on X.
As for his love life, he dated singer Miley Cyrus for five months. After Cyrus, the young actor was linked to model Abby Champion.
The two first sparked dating rumors in September 2015 when they were spotted at the Nice Guy in West Hollywood. Then, in 2016, Schwarzenegger appeared on the model’s Instagram. They’ve been together ever since!
Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger
Christopher Sargent is the youngest child of Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Shriver, but he is not the youngest of the siblings. That is, he has a younger half-brother.
Christopher was born on September 27, 1997, and has kept himself from the limelight. The only times that he is seen on social media is when his dad posts about him.
In 2020, Schwarzenegger posted a photoshopped photo of him in a cap and gown in front of the emblem of the University of Michigan because he only had an online graduation due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time.

The actor also penned a sweet message for him, saying how he is a champion and how much he loves him. Arnold also added that even though he didn’t get to fulfill the big celebration he dreamed of after graduating, he was still so proud of his achievement.
“Walking across a stage isn’t what makes me so proud of you: it’s your compassion, your hard work, your vision, your critical thinking, and your selflessness that make me burst with pride. I can’t wait to watch you keep climbing and succeeding,” the caption read.
Then, in 2021, he celebrated Christopher’s 24th birthday with a photo set of him and his son at different stages of life. He also revealed that he is actively trying out different hobbies like boxing, weightlifting, cycling, and even stretching to the point that he can no longer keep up with him.
Joseph Baena
Joseph is the youngest of Schwarzenegger’s kids, but his mom isn’t Shriver. It’s Mildred Patricia Baena, Schwarzenegger’s longtime housekeeper. The actor talked about his affair in his docuseries with Netflix titled Arnold.
He was born on October 2, 1997, just a few days after Christopher. However, his mom kept his identity a secret for around seven or eight years until she couldn’t when his resemblance with his father had grown too apparent.
Though Joseph was a product of infidelity, his dad made it clear that he was not ashamed, and he was more than proud to call him his son. After all, it was his mistake and not his son’s.
Joseph shared with Sophia and Sistine Stallone last January 2022 in their Unwaxed podcast that getting close to his dad took him a little while. When he did, he was comfortable enough to joke around him.
The two even frequently spend time together in the gym. In fact, Joseph followed in his dad’s footsteps as a bodybuilder. He even recreated some of his dad’s famed muscleman poses and featured them on his Instagram. Additionally, he said his dad was the best training partner in the world.
Aside from bodybuilding, Joseph also dabbled in Hollywood. He tried acting and earned his first movie credit in 2022 for the coming-of-age movie “Bully High.” He played the role of Eddie, the school president.
He also participated in Dancing With the Stars Season 31 with pro dancer Danielle Karagach. They got eliminated on the “Prom Night” episode despite garnering their highest score of the season.
In April 2023, it was announced that he would be joining Morgan Freeman and Luke Hemsworth for “Gunner.” He will be playing the role of Deputy Sheriff Wally.
As if bodybuilding and acting weren’t already hectic activities, he also pursued a career in real estate. He currently works as an agent for the California-based agency ARIA Properties.
Well, that’s everyone. We don’t think Arnold Schwarzenegger would have any more children, but he might add grandkids in the next few years.
