Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee confirmed their split almost a year after their daughter died. The two shared the news via Instagram.
In April 2021, the couple lost their daughter, Azaylia Diamond, after battling leukemia. Their baby was only eight months old, so losing her was extremely hard for the two.
Upon announcing their break up, Ashley Cain called the year Azaylia died a “devastating and heartbreaking year.” Ashley also highlighted how this decision was challenging for the two of them.
Ashley once mentioned in an interview that losing Azaylia changed his whole life. He said that he sees April as a challenge and is constantly reminded of the month he lost his daughter, which is never easy. However, this month also indicates that he needs to challenge himself to do something new.
“I like to do a challenge that’s going to be really tough round her anniversary, not only to commemorate her life, but to help me release some of the pain from my head and my heart,” Ashley stated.

The Ex on the Beach alum also stated that they realized that they needed time to figure out their journeys privately and reassured the fans that both of them are still good friends.
Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee both announced their split via social media. Though fans are devastated, they understand why they decided to go their separate ways.
Still, despite not being together anymore, Ashley and Safiyya are dedicated to running the foundation they put up for their late daughter. During their Good Morning Britain appearance, the former couple talked about their fundraising to help children with cancer.
During the interview, Safiyya Vorajee mentioned how losing her daughter impacted her. She confessed that she has difficulty interacting with kids but overcame it by turning her grief into purpose. The ex-couple also reminisced about the times they spent with Azaylia. Safiyya called her late daughter ‘incredible’ and an ‘inspiration.’

In another interview, Ashley recalled one reason he has not cut his beard. He said he could not go out and have it cut while in the hospital with their daughter. Azaylia has grown fond of it, so his beard reminds him of his precious baby girl.
Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee’s split caused sadness to the fans and even their celebrity friends, but the reason behind it is very understandable. Even though the two are not a couple anymore, they are working together to spread awareness about the disease that took away their little angel, Azaylia.
