Austin McBroom vs Bryce Hall: TikTok Feud That Ended In The Boxing Ring

The TikTok feud of 2021 featuring Austin McBroom vs Bryce Hall culminated in the boxing ring – three rounds of punches with McBroom emerging as the winner. It wasn’t the first influencer matchup and surely not the most popular out of the now-long pipeline. BUT, it was most definitely entertaining for its viewers, who made the event even more memorable with a meme fest

Wait, Who Are They?

If you’ve been out of the loop or just came across it thinking, “Who are these people, and how are they relevant enough to get this level of attention?” here’s a quick rundown.

McBroom is a former NCAA basketball player who became known in the YouTube community as the mastermind behind one of the most hated channels, the ACE Family, which he runs with his wife, Catherine Paiz.

Aside from people questioning how they’re monetizing off of their kids, they were also embroiled in financial troubles. In October 2021, as per Insiderthe couple was forced to give up their $10 million LA mansion as they had $8.7 million in debt to their lenders.

On the other side of the social media sphere is Hall. A Musical.ly star turned TikTok superstar who founded the now-defunct Sway House that housed a flurry of influencers like him with massive followings, including Noah Beck and Josh Richards. He’s also Addison Rae’s ex, and they’ve gone on and off before finally splitting in March 2021.

Now That We’re Caught Up, How Did It All Start?

So, the whole thing started back in December 2020. In a since-deleted Instagram post, McBroom said, “I’ve got enough kids, but I’ll make you my son.” Then, he indirectly challenged the Paul brothers by tagging them in the video. In the caption, he also called out Hall, writing, “I heard all your excuses. You ain’t built for this. I’ll let you keep ducking.”

In March 2021, Hall publicly responded to the challenge with a Twitter post showing their exchange. He even added some insults to fuel the fire, calling it a “little” fight and saying McBroom was crying because he couldn’t pay his cleaning lady.

McBroom simply responded that Hall was too scared to get in the ring with him. When asked about his beef with Hall, he said he didn’t like the kid. A few weeks later, Hall confirmed that he accepted the invite to enter the ring.

McBroom vs Hall was organized by McBroom’s very own promotions company, Social Gloves. Before they even stepped inside the ring, the two were already ready to rip each other apart.

In the pre-fight press conference, the hosts asked MBroom about his preparations for the match, and he then responded that he had been working on his overall skillsets, including strengthening his physique.

Hall apparently did not like McBroom’s answers and interrupted his moment at the mic. He instigated that McBroom was not a real fighter and would beat him easily, assuming he was an inexperienced amateur with no combat experience.

Hall did not stop there and continued teasing McBroom and hurling cheap insults at him.

Even as the press conference was about to end and the two finally stood up, the trash talks were unceasing. McBroom even threatened Hall that he was going to slap him around. Hall responded that he would hit him if he stood up to him like that again.

Despite the warning, McBroom stood up again, and as soon as that happened, Hall attacked him, and the chaos erupted. Everyone tried to stop them, and the press conference ultimately ended with Hall’s face on the floor before he even reached McBroom.

Fight Night

The exhibition boxing event, called “The Battle of the Platforms,” excited everyone to see if this fight would go down the distance or if there would be a stoppage between the TikToker and the YouTuber. The main event even sounded like a professional boxing match when the legendary announcer Michael Buffer entered and started announcing the fighters’ stats.

When the gong started, the two social media influencers wasted no time. They rushed at each other, with the jabs to size up the opponent. After the first exchange, McBroom clearly had an edge since he had better footwork and head movement. When Hall realized this, he went for a straight punch that led to a clinch, and they both got separated by the referee immediately.

McBroom threw another shot during the clinch, and the ref gave him what fans called a “questionable” warning, ruling it as a cheap shot. McBroom did not like that decision and made a face suggesting that the call by the ref was a mistake. The first round continued with McBroom having a clear advantage and landing more significant strikes.

However, the fans were disappointed as the referee made more questionable calls during the first round, especially whenever the two got into the clinch.

As the second round commenced, the gap between the two became massive, and it was now clearly seen that Hall was running out of gas and being the inferior striker. McBroom did not stop wearing down Hall with punches, which was evident in Hall’s face as the second round came to a close.

Then came the third and final round. As soon as the bell rang, McBroom did not hesitate to capitalize on his advantage and went for the kill; he immediately threw combinations with expectations to end the round.

Even though Hall was on the edge of losing, he did not back down. He decided to exchange punches with McBroom, which resulted in a mistake when he got caught by McBroom’s left and combination punches.

Hall got a standing down, but he stood up and continued the fight. Unfortunately, that was the last of his juice. McBroom caught him with another right cross and ended the fight there and then.

The fight ended with McBroom being announced as the victor of the battle. After his victory celebration, he went to Hall’s corner, and the two showed mutual respect for each other as they understood that they gave it all and would leave everything inside the ring.

Austin McBroom vs. Bryce Hall was definitely a moment in the history of social media. And that fight also opened up a career opportunity for them in boxing, inspiring other influencers like them to try it. Check out their full fight in the video below.
