American children’s entertainer and educator Stevin John, who plays the well-loved YouTube character Blippi finally met his first baby. Yes, Blippi is finally and officially a dad!
In an exclusive interview with Parents, John, and fiancée Alyssa Ingham shared that their baby boy, Lochlan David John, was born 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and 20 inches long on March 9, 2022. John definitely had a baby fever after meeting his son, gushing over how cute he was. “We love him so much! It has been heaven having him with us!” he said. The couple also gave a first look at one of their first family photos, which they posted on their Instagram a day later.

Moreover, the Blippi actor said he is very excited to teach his child – just like how he does in his Blippi videos – the ‘curiosity and joys of life.’ John also added that he is excited to experience life through his son’s perspective.
Blippi, a curious and energetic adult character who wears a blue and orange ensemble, was created by John and first broke into the YouTube scene in 2014. Since then, he has created a long list of videos teaching children a lot of things, including colors and letters.
In 2020, the actor joined Moonbug Entertainment to keep the show alive and running. Today, Blippi has over 17 million subscribers on YouTube, is dubbed in several languages, and is available to stream on Hulu and Amazon Prime. It also has branched out into several YouTube channels.
The Upgrade
On August 2, 2021, John upgraded from boyfriend to fiancé as Ingham gave her sweet “yes.” The proposal went down on a beach in Malibu, California, and was documented by photographer Matthew Takes. According to Ingham’s celebratory post, the two have been in a relationship since 2015.
Of course, the comments section was filled with congratulations and outpouring of so much love for the couple. After all, we all love Blippi – kids and adults alike.

John and Ingham announced their pregnancy in October through Instagram. They posted a series of photos with them holding their baby’s ultrasound, and John couldn’t hide his excitement that he would be a dad soon.
He was also thrilled to go and walk down the path of parenthood. John was also very grateful to have the flexibility in work to be able to join his fiancée in appointments. And just like Blippi, he always had a ton of questions that always ended up making the doctors laugh.
Talking with The Spinoff in 2018, John had already expressed that he would maybe want kids sometime ‘down the road.’ At the time, Blippi was also gaining major audience traction. According to the actor, his character had become part of many children’s lives and, in turn, their families. That is because they knew that Blippi was genuine and authentic and that he was having fun playing the role.
Then, a month before Stevin John’s baby was due, the couple announced that Lil Baby Blip would be a boy! They also revealed he would be joining the four-member household of Steve, Alyssa, and their fur babies, Lyno and his BFF Lily (boxer-pitbull mix).
Aside from the gender reveal, John also took two weeks off filming to prepare for their March 4 due date. Ingham said that her soon-to-be husband had already made three week-long trips prior. That way, he would be close to their home in Washington and not in Los Angeles just in case anything happened, like if she went into preterm labor.
A week before the baby’s birth, the couple already had all their bags packed, complete with the plan of delivering at the hospital and having a doula for support.

Lil Baby Blip, who is now called Lochlan David John, arrived happy and healthy. And his dad has planned on taking a month off to spend quality time with him. The couple is also very eager to tie the knot, and maybe we’ll hear the wedding plans and bells soon.
Lochlan David won’t be appearing on-cam, but he would be a hundred percent on set watching his dad dance around in blue and orange. Stevin John’s first baby is definitely very lucky to have Blippi as his dad.
