‘Castle Alum’ Stana Katic And Husband Kris Brkljac Are Now A Family of Three

Canadian actress Stana Katic and Australian businessman Kris Brkljac have officially become a family of three with the arrival of their first child in the winter of 2021. The news was confirmed to Us Weekly by Katic’s representative last June 2022. And according to the rep, the couple has been quietly enjoying their time together with their baby.

But before it hit the headlines, the actress had already dropped a not-so-subtle hint on her Instagram for Father’s Day. In her post featuring a cute selfie of her and her husband, she greeted him and said, “Best decision I ever made was joining forces with you. We love you and are so glad we get to share this life together. ❤️💋 #Blessed.” The ‘we’ definitely slid in the caption smoothly, especially since fans were distracted by the fact that she had finally returned to social media after her last post in June 2022.

Stana Katic is best known as Kate Beckett in the hit ABC crime procedural series Castle. She played the role for eight seasons until she was written off. News of her departure was announced in April 2016, citing budget reasons for Katic’s exit from the show.

Though rumors floated around that it was her offscreen tension with castmate Nathan Fillion (Richard Castle) that caused her to leave. The show was axed a month later.

Aside from CastleKatic also appeared in a number of TV series, including ER24HeroesCSI: MiamiThe Unit, Would Be Kings, and more. In 2017, she executive produced and starred in Amazon’s series Absentia until 2020.

She also did a string of films with notable roles in “Feast of Love” (2007), “Quantum of Solace” and “The Spirit” (2008), “Big Sur” and “CBGB” (2013), and “Lost in Florence” (2017). Stana Katic also participated in voice acting roles such as Lois Lane in “Superman: Unbound” (2013) and Wonder Woman in “Justice Society: World War II” (2021).

Katic married her longtime boyfriend, Kris Brkljac, in April 2015 after years of dating and a year after their engagement announcement. (This also coincidentally happened shortly after Katic’s character Kate Beckett walked down the aisle to marry Richard Castle.)

The actress had kept their relationship very lowkey. She hardly posted anything about him or them – and the only thing the media knew about Brkljac at the time was that he was a business efficiency consultant. He also had no social media accounts.

According to a statement by Katic’s rep, the couple had an intimate wedding at a private family monastery on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia. Following the event, Katic shared with fans a black-and-white photo of her and her husband’s overlapping hands wearing their wedding bands.

After tying the knot, the couple remained private. But if you happened to see Katic’s 2017 film “Lost in Florence,” you’d catch Stana Katic husband cameo appearance. In fact, before they got married, Brkljac also did a cameo in Castle

Brkljac appeared in season 5, episode 12: Death Gone Crazy. He was the man that detectives Esposito and Ryan first approached when they were looking for Beau Randolph’s bodyguard, Scarlet Jones. The episode aired back in 2013.

Currently, Stana Katic is busy with her non-profit work, ‘The Alternative Travel Project,’ and other charities. Her husband, Kris Brkljac, still isn’t on any social media platform. As for their plans, if they’d be adding another family member, we’ll just have to wait and see.
