Last January 29, 2023, Drake’s mom, Sandi Graham, turned seventy-five, and her loved ones, including her grandson Adonis, were there to celebrate with her in a big birthday bash. That day was filled with a lot of family moments that will forever be remembered.
In his Instagram post for his mama’s birthday, Drake shared a collection of photos from that day, featuring her blowing her birthday candle alongside five-year-old Adonis, along with a sweet tribute message for her.

He wrote how grateful he was for the nine months that she carried him through all the pain and suffering she experienced during that time. “No one knows the pressure you bear just only you…give you all my love,” he finished.
Aside from blowing out the candle with grandma, little Adonis (whom Drake shared with the French artist Sophie Brussaux) also posed with his dad, rocking matching gray suits. Then, in the last photo, the father-son duo took a family photo with Grandma Sandi and Grandpa Dennis. Adonis even threw adorable peace signs.
Then, on his Instagram Story, Drake shared more clips and photos of the celebration.
Drake and his mom have always shared a tight and special bond. Before the rapper’s Certified Lover Boy album was released a few years ago, Sandi showed her support for her child with a card she uploaded on social media.

She wrote that she would always feel her heart skipping with each new album. Then, the countdown finally struck one, and another one would drop. It had been a long road together, but being his mother had been her life’s greatest treat.
She then concluded her message, saying she wanted to celebrate him more than he’d ever known and that she loved him more now and forever.
Drake was definitely thankful to his mom for everything. On the second night of his back-to-back Apollo Theater shows in New York, a week before his mom’s birthday, he saluted her and called her his biggest fan.
He even had one set design that recreated his childhood bedroom back in her basement, wherein he played his 2011 song “Over My Dead Body” from his Take Care album. He then wore a cardigan, just like in the old times.

Last July 2023, the rapper once again honored his mom. Sandi joined him on stage during his performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He then serenaded her with “Look what You’ve Done,” a song dedicated to their family. In the fan clips taken from the concert, she was seen holding back her tears as her son performed.
Drake has always been very expressive about his unconditional love for his mom, Sandi Graham. He has always been there with her and for her. We only hope that they get to spend birthday after birthday together.
