Recently, Catelynn Lowell talked openly about how Brandon and Teresa Davis, Carly’s adoptive parents, helped Carly get back in touch with her sister Nova. We all know that these parents do not have a good relationship before, but they are making it work for the sake of their daughters.
We first meet Catelynn Lowell as one of the cast of the American reality show Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant. Catelynn got pregnant with her first daughter, Carly, and later on decided to give up their child for adoption, thinking that they were too young to have her.
Brandon and Teresa Davis came into the picture when they adopted Catelynn and Tyler’s firstborn. According to sources, there is little information about the couple, but they reside in North Carolina.
Carly Davis, Catelynn’s biological daughter, became the new member of the Davis family in 2009. Both couples agreed to let Catelynn and Tyler visit Carly annually and send constant updates to the teen parents.
Brandon and Teresa originally wanted a close adoption but changed their minds upon meeting Catelynn and Tyler. Before a stable relationship, the couple had a very heated clash that almost ruined their established agreements.
Because of the popularity of Teen Mom OG, Carly’s parents prefer that she not be recorded to protect her privacy. Later, Carly’s parents, Brandon and Teresa, and Tyler got into a fight over Tyler publishing a video of Carly that featured updated photographs of the child, which was against their desires.
They discussed why Brandon and Teresa were upset when Tyler posted the video during a sit-down meeting. Although they talked about it, each side appeared adamant in their opinions. Teresa says, “The child is biologically yours, but in every other way, she is our child.”
The clash between the two couples left a crack in their relationship, and for a while, both parents did not communicate. However, one fortunate event helped mend the broken trust between the two parties.
Catelynn Lowell revealed that Brandon and Teresa Davis helped her manage the relationship between Carly and her biological sister, Nova. Because they were separated due to Carly’s adoption, the two sisters somehow could not develop a close bond with each other.
Also, during one of the episodes of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Catelynn decided to explain to Nova the reason why they sent her sister, Carly, for adoption. It did not sit well with Nova, who expressed her disappointment to her parents.
Nova opened up about how she misses her sister and is upset that she can’t see her often. Young Nova even said, “Imagine getting split up from your sister or your brother.”
Catelynn and Tyler were devastated by their daughter’s sentiments but tried to explain their side to the child. She started with how scared Tyler and her were when they learned they would become parents at a young age. Despite wanting to keep Carly, they felt terrified of raising a child without enough resources.
Brandon and Teresa were also willing to help the former Teen Mom manage Nova’s emotions and let Carly and her younger sister FaceTime to communicate and lessen their longing.
Catelynn is very thankful for the couple and stated that Brandon and Teresa are one of the reasons they were able to reconnect with Carly. As for Carly and Nova, the little moments given to them also helped them develop a good relationship despite being away from each other.

Catelynn Lowell also acknowledged that Brandon and Teresa’s help made her a better mother to Nova. Because of them, she learned many important lessons in parenting and handling her children’s emotions.
Also, Catelynn incorporated what she experienced in teaching young moms to accept and consider adoption to give their children better lives when they think they can’t provide it yet.
Brandon and Teresa Davis might not have had the best relationship with Catelynn Lowell initially. However, both parents were able to settle it in the end. This story shows that differences can be accepted when properly discussed, especially when you share the same love for your children.
