‘Crash Landing on You’ c0-stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, more popularly known to fans as BinJin, are officially parents with the arrival of their first baby, whom they lovingly call Alkong, last November 27, 2022. In a report published by the South Korean outlet Soompi, the agency assured fans that the mom and child are in good health. Of course, fans were very happy and excited for the couple and their now-blossoming little family.

Hyun Bin (현빈) and Son Ye Jin (손예진) are both established names in South Korea’s entertainment industry with not only decades-long of experience but also impressive acting resumes. Son Ye Jin first rose to fame in 2003 with her film “The Classic” and her drama with Son Seung Hoon, Summer Scent, the third installment of Endless Love.
On the other hand, Hyun Bin got his breakthrough role in 2005 with My Name Is Kim Sam Soon. The series became a huge rage in South Korea, and he became one of the most popular actors – and remains to be one – of his generation.
However, despite being top actors in the industry, the two didn’t have any projects together until 2018 with “Negotiation.” According to sources, Hyun Bin wasn’t initially sure if he would do the film. But after hearing that Ye-jin would also participate, he decided to give it a go.
During that time, the two clearly developed a strong friendship. In fact, Ye-jin even spent Chuseok (추석), which is Korean Thanksgiving, with Hyun Bin while they were promoting the film.
In 2019, the two were reunited on-screen with the hit series Crash Landing on You (CLOY). Before they were announced as leads, the two were caught in dating rumors as they were spotted spending time together and even traveling to LA. Their respective agencies released statements denying it and claiming they were just friends.
Two years later, after the phenomenal success of their drama, Hyun Bin, and Ye-jin confirmed that they were in a relationship. According to their agencies, they started dating after CLOY filming wrapped up and had been seeing each other for eight months then.
Ye-jin also took the time to write a sweet and touching post for fans on her Instagram to address her personal life. She said it ‘happened that way’ and while telling fans in such a fashion was awkward, she felt it was necessary to do so.
Of course, everyone shipping them so hard, as Ri Jeong-hyeok and Yoon Se-ri were very happy to see them together as Hyun Bin and Ye-jin.
Then in February 2022, the couple announced their engagement. Then a month later, the most-awaited wedding of the year finally happened. It was held at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin Gu, Seoul. The ceremony was kept private with only family and close friends as South Korea was still under health restrictions at the time.

Less than three months after their grand wedding, the well-loved couple announced they were expecting their first baby. Son Ye-Jin broke the news on Instagram with a photo of her favorite flower and an intimate, loving letter to fans.
In the letter, she shared that she was still in a daze, but she had started feeling the changes in her body. She expressed the rollercoaster of emotions she had been going through – thankfulness, nervousness, and excitement – with having been blessed with a new life.
The actress concluded her letter with a promise to protect their baby and a wish for everyone to protect and treasure what is important in their lives as well.
The fans’ reactions to Son Ye-jin’s latest news were very heartwarming.
One fan said that the news was something they needed after a bad day as it made them smile and realize that there are always ways to find happiness. “Not overreacting but it made my day feel a bit lighter,” they said. Another one even said, “What have we done to deserve witnessing all these?! ???? I am literally crying right nowwww ????”
And, of course, there were also many comments about how beautiful their baby would be winning the genetic lottery.

On November 27, 2022, a Sunday, Son Ye-jin gave birth to a baby boy. The couple announced the news through their respective agencies but kept everything private. After a month, in celebration of Christmas and the holiday season, Son Ye-jin gave a quick update to fans, revealing their baby boy’s lovely name and his cute little feet.
In her post, Ye-jin said she was a bit worried about the baby since he came earlier than expected, but thankfully, she delivered him without a C-section. She thanked everyone who had been there for her through the pregnancy and everyone who cared for her and her son when he finally arrived. Lastly, the actress also expressed gratitude to her husband, Hyun Bin, and wished him an unforgettable Christmas.
Going Strong
Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin celebrated their first wedding anniversary with their first baby, Alkong, last March 31, dispelling rampant divorce rumors. On the day, the actress posted a beautiful photo of them sitting while holding their hands on her Instagram story.
