We all know that Andy Murray is well known worldwide, but how about his wife, Kim Sears? Did you know that tennis was also the one that brought them together?
Kim Sears and Andy Murray crossed paths as youngsters through the tennis community, allegedly during a US Open party in 2005. Nigel, Kim’s father, is a coach and the former Lawn Tennis Association director of women’s tennis.
Nearly a year later, Kim became widely recognized. At the Pacific Coast Championships in 2006, Andy Murray kissed Kim after taking home his maiden career victory. The image of the kiss was then shared in almost all of the tabloids.

Kim received A marks in music, theater, and painting for her A-levels and went on to study at Sussex University. She was born on December 10, 1987, in Balcombe, and she presently resides in Surrey with Andy, her kids, and two dogs.
She is well-recognized for her paintings, portraits, and other illustrations, many of which prominently highlight her passion for animals. Kim advertises her artwork on a website she controls.
Through her charitable endeavors, Kim also promotes animal preservation. A pet of hers was the main inspiration for her pet book, which she has also written.
One year after their engagement announcement in 2014, the couple exchanged vows on April 11, 2015. Kim looked every bit the blushing bride as she came out in a custom Jenny Packham gown studded with Swarovski crystals to wed her tennis champion. Andy even revealed to the Telegraph that Kim had handled most of the wedding planning before the nuptials.
During the lockdown, it was discovered that Kim had quietly given birth following a very secretive pregnancy, making Andy an adoring father of four. When asked if they had a boy or a girl, the tennis star first opted not to say, but it was later revealed the pair had a daughter.

The Wimbledon winner and his wife Kim’s kids are Sophia (age 7), Edie (age 5), Teddie (age 3), and Lola (2). Andy added that Sophia has already demonstrated an interest in sports. However, that is not the case for their younger daughter, Edie Murray, who wrote a letter to her dad about ‘not going to play tennis for a while’ after playing with dad.
It is evident that the couple shares the same interest and love for tennis, but did you know Kim and Andy also own a hotel together? Since 2013, the pair have owned the five-star Cromlix hotel in Perthshire, Scotland.
The Victorian palace in Perthshire, which was once a private residence, was converted by Kim and Andy into a 15-room hotel with a chapel and a remote loch. The couple chose this lovely estate as the destination for their wedding there in 2015. Thus, the place has essential memories for them as well.
Andy Murray also revealed the sacrifices his wife, Kim Sears, had made for their relationship. Andy, who has been married to his then-wife since 2005, was surprisingly candid in an interview with the New York Times about their relationship. When asked about Kim’s media attention, especially during essential tournaments, Andy said Kim does not enjoy all the attention.
Andy added that his wife is also not fond of people commenting about her looks and what she wears. However, despite how much she tried to avoid attention, being the tennis champion’s wife, there will always be pictures of Kim Sears in newspapers or tabloids. When given a chance, the doting husband always appreciates Kim’s sacrifices. He never fails to thank her in interviews or press releases.
