Charlotte Drury was born in Laguna Beach, California, on June 4, 1996. She found her love for gymnastics before she could learn how to count. Starting at the age of 3, little Charlotte Drury found a passion for the sport as she initially started with the discipline of artistic gymnastics.

Little Charlotte Drury started training in the National Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo at age 5. It’s the same place she met her best friends, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross, with whom she’s known to have inseparable bonds.

The three ultimately dominated the incredibly competitive sport, reaching level 10. Still, it wasn’t the same anymore because Charlotte Drury eventually fell out of love with Artistic gymnastics as her passion for it didn’t seem to last forever, despite the victories she had achieved with her best friends.

She eventually quit artistic gymnastics by age 13 because she “didn’t love it anymore.” Funnily enough, her mother had enrolled her in trampoline gymnastics, an underrated discipline of gymnastics at the time, the day she quit and got herself to start practicing on the same night of the event.

Charlotte eventually revealed that when she was younger, she had more excitement every time her coach scheduled her for trampoline gymnastics because it felt like the highlight of her life.

Although, quitting artistic gymnastics still gave her a headstart when she started her career in trampoline gymnastics. She utilized what she learned as an artistic gymnast, and they helped her win a national title in her first year of competing.

She became the first American woman to win a gold medal for trampoline gymnastics in the Minsk World Cup in 2014, it was a momentous occasion for her career, and she didn’t plan on stopping.

Unfortunately, Charlotte had to stop after sustaining a foot injury. She landed the wrong way while doing her warmups, leading her to miss the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics, where she was about to compete.

The foot injury made the athlete stop training for a year and a half, leaving her devastated as she walked away from the sport. Of course, that never stopped her permanently from doing the thing she loved the most.

When she recovered, she got a tattoo of flowers on the part of her foot that broke to commemorate the challenging moment. It also served as motivation for her to become stronger and stay determined.
