The Royal Family of England will be welcoming a new member soon because Princess Eugenie, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, is pregnant with baby number two!
The palace issued an announcement saying that the Princess of York and her husband, businessman Jack Brooksbank, are expecting their second child this summer of 2023. They added that the family is delighted, especially the royal couple’s firstborn, August Philip Hawke, who was looking forward to being a big brother.
On the other hand, Princess Eugenie shared the news like everybody else does these days: via an Instagram post.

It was a sweet snap of August burying his face into her with his little arms wrapped around her legs taken by her husband. Along with it was a short and simple caption reading, “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”
The couple has kept their relationship out of the public eye for so long, even before their wedding. They continued to do so except for major life announcements like this.
Chapter 1: Straight Out Of A Winter Fairytale
Princess Eugenie first met Jack Brooksbank at Verbier, a Swiss holiday resort and ski area, in 2010. She was 20, and he was 24. The Princess and her family had been vacationing there for years, and it was (and still is) a popular winter vacation spot for many tourists. As the couple said, it was love at first sight.
During their dating phase, the two were rarely seen together. They were only spotted at high-profile events, including the weekend stay at Balmoral with the Queen for Prince Harry’s 32nd birthday and Pippa Middleton’s wedding.
Finally, they got engaged after seven years of dating (with two of those long-distance).
In January 2018, Brooksbank finally proposed to the Princess during their vacation to Nicaragua. According to the royal, even though they had been together for a long time, the question getting popped still surprised her. “I was over the moon,” she said.
Later that year, they tied the knot in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in October.

In September 2020, the couple shared the happy news that they were expecting their first child. Princess Eugenie posted a photo of fuzzy slippers on her Instagram with the caption, “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021…”
Their son, August, arrived on February 9, 2021, and Her Royal Highness posted their first family photo a few weeks later. Their little bundle of joy was wrapped in blue, matching his father. Along with it was a thank you to everyone who sent their messages, their midwife, and the other essential workers who helped safely deliver their little human.
August, or Augie to his mom and dad, quickly became the star of his mother’s social media feed. The Princess loved to post pictures of him and, most especially, pictures of the three of them together. Then two years later, they were four.
Chapter 3: Welcoming Baby Number 2
Princess Eugenie announced she was pregnant with their baby number 2 last January 2023. Then on May 30, the couple finally welcomed their second child, another boy! In a post made by the Princess weeks later, she introduced him as Ernest George Ronnie, named after “his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald.”
