The Bachelorette Success Story: Here’s Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo’s Relationship Timeline

The Bachelorette’s Season 13 Rachel Lindsay found her happy ending on the show with Miami-based chiropractor Bryan Abasolo, and their relationship has only grown and blossomed since. Much to the dismay of many naysayers who didn’t believe they’d last long after the cameras were turned off.

Recap: The Start Of A Rare Success Story

We all know that happy endings in The Bachelor Nation rarely happen. And when they do, it almost feels like magic.

The Firsts

Rachel Lindsay met Bryan Abasolo on the first night of The Bachelorette, and he charmed her as soon as he stepped out of the limo. “From the moment you walked out of the limo, I felt something that was unexplainable,” Lindsay confessed to him.

Two things made her first impression of him even more memorable: he told her she would be in trouble and spoke to her in Spanish. Abasolo got the first impression rose and the first kiss of the season.

On week five, the two enjoyed an exclusive date in Oslo, Norway. They rode a tram, rappelled down the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, ate dinner, and opened up about themselves. The night ended with Lindsay offering Abasolo a rose and him wholeheartedly revealing that he was falling in love with her.

Meeting the Family

Lindsay took Abasolo and her two other final suitors, Eric Bigger and Peter Kraus, home to meet her family in Dallas. But unlike Bigger and Kraus, Abasolo didn’t get a very warm welcome. The family had reservations, questioning whether his intentions were sincere or not.

Lindsay understood the situation and admitted that even she initially felt that about him. In fact, despite what people see on the screen – them kissing and being flirty with each other, she didn’t give him an easy way out.

She constantly asked him about his sincerity with her. At the same time, she was frustrated that her family wasn’t as open-minded with him as the two other men. So, it came to a point where she got defensive.

Ultimately, Lindsay stuck with what she felt was best for her. She gave Abasolo a rose after that hometown date.

The Engagement

It wasn’t a difficult guess that Lindsay and Abasolo would be the endgame of the season, and their engagement was every girl’s dream. Abasolo got down on one knee with a 3-carat, platinum Neil Lane diamond ring and asked her to marry him.

Now get this: It happened in Spain, on top of a castle. Lindsay said yes (of course).

In a later interview with PEOPLE, she described the moment as an “out-of-body experience.” It felt so surreal for her to see the man of her dreams propose to her in a very scenic space. So when Abasolo finally asked her, she could only scream with happiness.

Life After The Show

The couple started the new chapter of their lives in Dallas. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the reality star shared that it had been forever since she had a man with her in her hometown – let alone a fiancé. It was so great to have Abasolo with her and show him the city where she was born and raised.

2019

In 2019, the pair left Dallas to embrace career growth. Lindsay was taking off in the sports entertainment industry, giving her a flexible work schedule. Since Abasolo’s network was all in Miami, it made sense for them to move there.

A few months after their big move, they turned the page to a new chapter of their love story: The Married Life.

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo said their “I Do’s” at the Royalton Suits Cancun in Mexico on August 24. Spotted in attendance were fellow Bachelor Nation alums Kristina Schulman, Astrid Loch, and Bibiana Julian. According to wedding planner Michael Russo, the couple exchanged personal handwritten vows. “You could feel the unbridled emotion and powerful connection between them,” he shared.

Lindsay initially wanted to have a televised nuptial. However, after getting to know each other in the real world and hearing horror stories about TV weddings, they decided against it. Ultimately, they wanted to show the world, especially everyone who doubted their relationship, that everything was real.

After the wedding, they hopped on a plane straight to Santorini, Greece, for their honeymoon.

2020

Then, on their first wedding anniversary, they explored the beaches of Aruba. They had some fun going to the spa, dining by the beach, and drinking in a cabana.

Shortly after celebrating their first year together, the two had to go long distance. In an episode of Abasolo’s Dr. Abs Healthcast podcast, the two shared that their respective careers were the reason behind their decision.

Abasolo was focusing on his practice in Miami and building it to where he wanted to be. On the other hand – and the other end, which was in Los Angeles – Lindsay was working for Extra

They were both very supportive of each other to reach greater heights in their career. Ultimately, they were doing those things to bring themselves together eventually, and they did.

2021

In 2021, the bi-coastal couple reunited in LA. Lindsay went on to Instagram to share the news with fans, writing, “Not an April Fools joke. RnB are back where we belong — together.” This was also the year Lindsay visited Colombia, Abasolo’s home country, for the first time. She met his family there and attended his cousin’s wedding, too!

Still In Love

The two celebrated their third-year and fourth-year anniversaries with tribute posts on Instagram. There’s no doubt that they’re still so in love with each other.

According to Lindsay, Ashton Kutcher pushed her in the right direction of love. As the story went, Kutcher and his wife, Mila Kunis, hosted a group date during her Bachelorette season. Then the actor told her, “I’m telling you: I’m looking around this room, and your husband’s not here.” Interestingly, Abasolo was not on that date.

Kutcher’s advice also helped strengthen Rachel Lindsay’s relationship with her now husband, Bryan Abasolo. He told her to talk to him about love languages and also recommended that she read the book “Sapiens.” It worked, and they’ve been married for four years now (and counting!)
