On September 26, 2006, Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Justine’s daughter passed away just after giving birth. Rev Run thanked his supporters for offering their prayers and sympathies in a message sent through the network that airs his reality show, “Run’s House,” and stated that his wife “is doing fine.”

She stated that Victoria Anne was a part of her whom she carried for nine months, and losing her was heartbreaking. Justine added that Run Rev found comfort with God after their daughter passed away, and she, on the other hand, would sometimes be alone, crying under her covers.
Justine Simmons also said she might not have been able to help their children get ready for school without her husband, urging her to keep moving. Despite that, Justine said that she was trying to heal. Even though it was hard and lonely, the couple tried to find healing in every way possible to get back on their feet again.

Also, after the baby died, Justine was instructed by their bishop to stay with the child for a while in the hospital. It was also Justine’s form of saying goodbye to her angel, which she brought back to her creator wholeheartedly.
The couple later revealed the reason for Victoria Anne’s death. Justine learned their daughter had many complications, even though she was still unborn. When the baby was out, they discovered that her organs had grown outside her body.
Through deep faith and with the help of their family and friends, the couple was able to start seeing the beauty of life and parenthood again. After the death of Rev Run and Justine’s baby, both parents decided to adopt a baby girl. Justine revealed that they have been processing the papers and praying hard so that the right child will be given to them.
The family is learning to accept the incident and help each other overcome depression and sadness. The unfortunate event was able to bring them tightly together and let them appreciate the existence of one another more deeply.
