Last November 2022, the popular fast-food chain Wendy’s brought back their $2 Frosty keychain. If you’ve followed them, you’d know this is not your regular accessory.
First launched back in 2010, this one-time inexpensive purchase entitles each customer to a year-long of Jr. Frosty! One cup of icy dessert is available any time of the day your craving kicks in. That’s roughly $365 worth of free desserts for a $2 investment. If that’s not the sweetest deal ever, we don’t know what is.
Here’s the kicker: For 2023, aside from their usual chocolate (since 1969) and vanilla (since 2006), customers can also delight their taste buds with the limited-time Peppermint Frosty!
This seasonal flavor started hitting the stores in time with the launch of the keychain and was the first-ever holiday Frosty. In the past 16 years of business, this was just the third flavor that Wendy’s ever introduced.
How Can You Get This Sweet Deal?
The keychains were launched in November and were available at select participating locations until January 29, 2023. So, if you’re only reading this now, you’ve already missed it. But the good news is that this is an annual tradition, and you could get another chance next year.
So here’s how it works:
You can choose from two options: a physical Frosty-inspired tag or a digital tag. You can purchase the physical one in-store, via drive-thru, or through the app or website.
On the other hand, digital tags are only available via the app and website. It’s important to note that these are two different items.
The physical tag cannot be applied to online orders, but the digital tag works on both online and in-person orders.
Once you have your chosen tag, you can redeem your free dessert. If you have a physical tag, you just need to place your order inside the restaurant or at the drive-thru and simply present your keychain to the employee behind the counter.
For the digital one, if you order via the app or website, you can just directly apply it. If you want to do an in-person order, you just need to scan it in the restaurant.
That’s it. Easy, right?
But Here’s the Best Part
The proceeds made from each purchased Wendy’s Frosty Keychain are donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. It’s a charity organization that helps children in foster care find ‘safe, loving, and permanent homes.’ You can also actually do a bulk order straight from the website and hand them out to friends, family, and even total strangers.
