Reality TV programs are meant to be genuine. It turns out, though, that this isn’t always the case. One of the contestants on the popular reality series “The Challenge,” Lauren Coogan, has been struggling since she was removed from the program over some “alleged” statements she made.

Even Josh Martinez, Coogan’s partner in the show, and many of her fans have started to wonder what might have been the reason why she was suddenly cut off the show.
According to some sources, Coogan’s allegedly racially offensive statements about Aneesa Ferreira during a party in the house were the primary factor in the producers’ decision to exclude her from the program. However, the network and the other cast members of the show have not provided any confirmation.
Coogan vaguely addresses anything about the issue. However, as the controversies affected her mental and physical health, she started to open up it. Coogan contends that her portrayal on the program was an unfair picture of her character and that she was “gaslit and scapegoated” by the show’s producers.

Lauren Coogan seems to have already come to terms with her abrupt withdrawal from the show, airing her feelings on Twitter. In one of her tweets, the reality tv show star said she is trying not to tell everything she knows, even though she has the choice to speak up. Her statement made fans believe something suspicious may have occurred behind the scenes.
Additionally, she expressed her frustration with the network in a tweet, claiming that she only agreed to participate in the reality TV show as a form of entertainment, not as a politician or role model.
Few people even have the confidence to use their life as entertainment for enormous audiences, she added, and occasionally viewers may find tragedies hilarious. She then tries to persuade everyone to be polite to others at all times and avoid believing everything they see or hear.
It Started to Affect Her Mental Health!

Coogan has also shared in her Instagram that her removal from the show was so traumatic that she even started to go into a lot of therapy since it heavily affected her mental health. Coogan later claimed she was removed without any evidence of the alleged remark.
However, she also suggests that she was edited out of the show because she spoke out against the show’s problematic and toxic culture.
As a result, since ‘The Challenge’ is such a known show, the controversy has sparked a larger conversation about the ethical practices of Reality TV shows and the responsibilities of the show producers towards their cast members.
However, such issues were not new to many, considering, after the boom of the internet, ethical issues regarding how the show can easily manipulate each scene have raised concerns. That also includes how the show’s editors can easily manipulate participants’ behavior to incite gossip, tears, and drama.
Although some may depend on such actions to make the show exciting and intriguing, the fact remains that it can lead to the invasion of the participant’s privacy. Now because of that, many are still against the concept of ‘Reality’ shows.
That’s why Lauren Coogan’s perspective has slowly shed light on the potential harm that could result from the editing and production choices made by reality TV shows such as ‘The Challenge.’ It also highlights the need for greater transparency and accountability in the industry.
