
Since its premiere in 2019, Euphoria has become one of the most watched and well-loved shows in history. Although it had its fair share of controversies, the show was still a hit to many. Aside from its intriguing and Euphoric plot, Maddy and Nate’s continued love drama hooked viewers to watching ‘Euphoria.’ Their already toxic relationship became even more complicated when Cassie, Maddy’s best friend, entered the scene.
The show follows the lives of teenagers in the fictitious Californian town of East Highland, seeking optimism while juggling the pressures of addiction, love, and grief. Due to how relevant it is to this age of teens and young people, “Euphoria” has become quite popular across the globe.

The whole love triangle started when Maddy Perez, played by actress Alexa Demie had an on-and-off relationship with Nate Jacobs, played by actor Jacob Elordi. Their toxic relationship was steered to its worst end when Cassie Howard, played by actress Sydney Sweeney entered the story.
At the beginning of season 1, Maddy and Nate are introduced as an already broken-up couple talking ill behind each other’s backs. In one of the party scenes in the show, Maddy was seen hooking up with Tyler Clarkson, played by actor Lukas Gage.
Through flashbacks, viewers got to glimpse into Nate and Maddy’s early romance as the first season went on. Fans could understand when things went wrong between the two because of the combination of footage from the present and flashbacks from their history.
However, when did Maddy and Nate actually end their relationship? Many say that Nate abusively hurt Maddy both physically and emotionally, Maddy has realized that she already had enough, so she decided to end their on-and-off relationship once and for all.
Then, as a surprising turn of events, at a New Year’s Eve party, an intoxicated Cassie hooks up with Nate in a restroom three weeks and three days after Maddy and Nate split up. There is no way Cassie can tell anybody about what happened as she is friends with Maddy.

As a result, Cassie, who had feelings for Nate as well, chose to have an illicit relationship with him rather than avoid the abusive player. However, for some reason, Nate tries to patch things up with Maddy in addition to his continued covert romance with Cassie.
This move made fans speculate that his feelings for Maddy haven’t ended yet. However, Maddy seems to have attempted to avoid Nate as much as possible.
Nate, on the other hand, hasn’t given up yet. He even decided to attend Maddy’s birthday party, bringing a present. However, Cassie is one of the guests at the party, and seeing her secret lover trying to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend makes Cassie throw up.
Then, after Rue, played by Zendaya, reveals to everyone the ongoing relationship between Cassie and Nate, things worsen for Cassie. On the other hand, Maddy didn’t take such revelations lightly, considering her best friend had been secretly hooking up with her abusive ex-boyfriend.

As a result, Maddy couldn’t contain her anger anymore, and she started to spill some hurtful words toward Cassie. Cassie was then asked to leave their house. She then started living with Nate.
Although Cassie thought they would have a blissful life together, now that she is with her ‘true love,’ she also got emotionally abused. As their relationship became troublesome and toxic, Nate finally decided they should be better off apart.
In episode 7 of the show’s second season, Nate and Cassie’s relationship ends after Nate forcefully asks Cassie to pack her things up and leave his house instantly. It just shows that Euphoria’s plot has gone intense from Maddy and Nate’s toxic relationship to Cassie and Nate’s unexpected tie-up.
