Actor Johnny Wactor Surprised On How Well-Loved ‘Brando’ is After His Departure from ‘General Hospital’

Actor Johnny Wactor has recently left his role as Brando Corbin in the hit show ‘General Hospital.’ Fans are expressing how sad they are now that they will never see their favorite character on the show ever again. After departing from the series, it caused Wactor to reflect on what his role meant to him and his fans. 

In an interview, Wactor shared that he was surprised to see his fans’ reaction after his character ‘Brando’ died on the show. He added that he had no idea viewers cared so much about his character. 

Such a reaction was quite a surprise to him. That is why he took the time to express his gratitude for his fans’ support towards him by sharing a heartfelt message on his Instagram.

In the said post, he states that it has been a couple of days since his last scene in the show was released. However, he is still blown away by the continuous heartwarming reaction that his fans have been sharing on social media. He added that he had no idea that people really loved his character that much. 

Johnny Wactor played Brando Corbin, a known former military man who became involved with the Corinthos family. Just like most soap opera characters, Wactor already expected that his character would surely be loved by some and hated by others. 

Although Brando Corbin was a relatively new character on the show, having been introduced in 2019, he is still considered one of the most loved among many. That said, Wactor expressed his gratitude for becoming part of the ‘General Hospital family since this is the first time he has received much attention for his work.

He is also so thankful for the show’s fan base since they were the reason why he loved being on the show so much, describing that it is something he hasn’t encountered on his other projects before. 

In a statement, he revealed that being an actor is not an easy job at all. However, being part of a show that has a fan base that is loyal and caring is really something that every actor wishes to have. 

Wactor said he will surely miss being on set and interacting with his fans, especially now that he is officially out of the show. However, he did state that he will be forever thankful for the unique experience that the show has given him, and of course, for the fans that have never stopped supporting him since day one. 

Wactor has also reflected on his General Hospital’s legacy and the fans that never miss an episode. He says he is so grateful for the outpour of questions and support the fans have always given him. He added that the General Hospital fans are really the best in the world.

Wactor also shared that he had tried to speak with Soap Opera Digest about his departure from the show, stating that he has no bad blood with the show’s producer and writers for the unexpected death of his character. However, he did say that leaving the show, crew, and co-stars was definitely emotional, especially now that he will not be able to interact with his fans the same way as before.  

It was not only Wactor who was sad about his departure. General Hospital fans have also expressed their disappointment at Wactor’s exit and have shared their thoughts on social media since that episode was released. 

That said, no matter what happens, Wactor’s fans assure him they will still support him, even if his time as Brando in General Hospital finally ends. Wactor is truly thankful for the opportunity he was given and hopes to continue acting in the future.
