Keemo Abbott and Jack Abbott didn’t have a good relationship from the get-go, so it was pretty understandable that he wanted to step away from the set of Genoa City. Keemo’s hatred stems from his father never telling him that his mom was suffering from a terminal illness, blaming him for robbing Keemo of the time he should have spent with his mom.
So when Luan finally succumbed to her terminal illness, Keemo left the city of Genoa and the show. He was never mentioned or talked about again after that. It was like he disappeared into thin air.
Everyone was surprised when the show decided to shine a light on his existence in 2022 after his first appearance in 1994 and his last one in 1996. The speculation of Keemo’s comeback was under investigation after Jack Abbott started getting texts that belonged to the address of Keemo’s late grandfather, Hao Nguyen.

Since the texts are connected to his late wife Luan and their son Keemo, people initially thought it was a sign that Keemo would return to the show after being missing since 1996.
Instead of a dramatic comeback in The Young and The Restless way of storytelling, we got a tragic ending to Keemo Abbott’s life as it was revealed that he passed away from a heart attack at the age of 48 in Los Angeles. To add insult to injury, someone left a box for Jack Abbott, and it contained letters that added more to the heartbreak.
Keemo made the letters, although he never ended up sending them. It is a heartbreaking conclusion to what happened to Keemo on The Young and The Restless. We learn that after all these years that he and his father have spent separated, he has learned that his son still loved him and forgave him despite years of estrangement.
It was also revealed that Keemo originally had plans to reunite with his father. Of course, that never happened, and we’re left with Jack Abbott filled with regret as he mourns for his son’s death. Although, no one knows who left the box there as it was only revealed that a close friend of Keemo left it.

Although, despite the tragic loss, Jack Abbott eventually found that the letters were not the only thing that Keemo left. It was also that he had a granddaughter named Allie.
With everything that has happened, fans are left with more questions than answers. Although it is devastating that Jack Abbott eventually lost another son because Kyle Abbott will probably not be around anymore due to his actor having contract negotiations fall through.
That said, people are curious if Jack Abbott is set to discover more about Keemo Abbott’s life after his disappearance in The Young And The Restless, as it will finally close the book for the estranged father and son.
