On September 27, 2022, the famed restauranteur, Guy Fieri, paid his sister, Morgan Fieri, a tribute post on what would have been her 50th birthday. Guy unfortunately lost Morgan due to metastatic melanoma at the young age of 38.
The photo featured his PEOPLE cover story, including a photo of him and his siblings when they were young. Then, he penned a short but sweet message, saying that he loved and missed her and that she celebrated him. He then signed off the message with “NAMASTE -Big Bro.”

In his PEOPLE cover issue for September 2022, Fieri opened up about his family’s tragic loss.
Guy shared that he lost his little sister 12 years ago, and his dad had just beat pancreatic cancer five years ago. He recalled how much of a miracle it was, and after surviving it, his dad had since become a great advocate for people who had gone through the same thing.
He said, “I think you got to live every single day. That’s the biggest thing — is you never know what tomorrow’s going to bring.” He then continued that it was one of the reasons he lived the way he lived. So, he wasn’t going to waste any more time.

He also talked about the resilience he learned from his parents growing up, crediting it as a big factor in how he formed such a positive mindset in life. He recounted how he saw his parents bury his sister, and despite the tragedy, they still bravely got up every day and lived their lives.
Of course, talking about his sister was still full of sorrow, but they went and did it every day. He didn’t know he would have that kind of strength as an individual and that they were really great examples to follow.

Guy received a lot of support from fellow chef friends in the comments section. Ree Drummond, known for her blog The Pioneer Woman, sent him some love with three heart emojis. His co-host on his show, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night, was also in the comments with his four red heart emojis.
However, his biggest tribute to his younger sister was the fact that he took in his sister’s son, Jules, and raised him like his own sons, Hunter and Ryder, when she died in 2011. According to Guy, Jules was blowing it up in his music career in Los Angeles, and he was definitely so proud of him. He worked hard to get to where he was and live his dream.
Morgan Fieri’s son, Jules, graduated from California State University San Marcos earlier in May. Guy Fieri shared graduation photos with PEOPLE, and in it was a family picture with his nephew’s hand in the air after receiving his diploma. We’re sure his sister would’ve been proud of the both of them.
