Here’s What We Know So Far About Fire Country’s Cast

Here’s what you need to know for those who want an overview of the show’s plot.

It is about a young convict with a rough past trying to undergo his redemption arc as he becomes a volunteer firefighter in the California Conservation Camp program in his old town, Edge Water. While there, he ends up being paired up with other convicts, dealing with massive, dangerous wildfires while trying to keep people safe. It is genuinely a binge-worthy show.

We also meet many characters played by familiar actors and actresses who give life to their portrayal of their characters. With that said, here’s an overview of each character when you plan to binge-watch the first season.

Bode Donovan

We eventually meet one of the main characters named Bode Donovan, played by Max Thierot. He is a young convict who changed his last name to hide from his family and was imprisoned after a life of crime.

However, he couldn’t hide forever as he was finally back in town to be a volunteer firefighter with other inmates. His character undergoes massive development from a troubled young man to a responsible and fearless firefighter as the audience eventually uncovers what makes up his rough past.

Vince Leone

Billy Burke plays the character of Vince Leone, Bode’s father, who has had many fire experiences and mainly blames Bode for the death of his daughter. He usually has a lot of doubt when it comes to Bode, and he was why Bode left the town after his sister died, as he told him to go and never to come back.

Sharon Leone

We also meet Vince’s wife, Sharon Leone. Played by Diane Farr, she is the chief of division 1501 and Bode’s mother. She is a maternal figure in the series, showing that she still cares for and loves Bode even after her daughter’s death.

She tries her best to convince Bode to stay in the town. She also does her best managing her high-up position, with her main problem dealing with the constant conflict of the distribution of resources over 400 fire stations.

Manny Perez

Kevin Alejandro plays the character of Manny Perez. He is the fire captain in charge of the inmates and wants to help Bode with his rough past.

That is because he also had a similar one before he joined the same California Conservation Camp Program, where he successfully turned his life around, got married, and divorced. He also cares a lot about his daughter, Gabriela Perez.

Gabriela Perez

Stephen Arcila plays Gabriela Perez, the daughter of Manny Perez, who is an Olympic diver who won 14th place in the Tokyo Olympics in the past who now turned into a fellow firefighter.

She also shares romantic chemistry with Bode Donovan, which the fans noticed after she jumped off a bridge to save Bode. It was after he tried his best to pry off civilians from a car wreck hanging off the bridge, resulting in him going down with it.

Jake Crawford

Jordan Calloway is Jake Crawford, a good-natured and kind firefighter with a troubled past because of the death of his ex-girlfriend, Bode Donovan’s sister. She passed away due to a car crash shortly after he dumped her.

Eve Edwards

Jules Latimer plays Eve Edwards, the childhood friend of Jake Crawford and Bode Donovan’s sister. She takes pride in being known to be fearless. She tries her best to be a good friend to Jake, but their dynamic takes a turn when she finds out the actual cause of the death of Bode’s sister.

The Series Is Inspired By How Firefighters First Handedly Respond To Crisis

The characters are constantly in scenarios where they can quickly lose their lives in forest fires. It shows that fire isn’t the only thing firefighters handle but also accidents and saving the lives of civilians. The show is inspired by a real-life program called Calfire, which recruits inmates to get early paroles by becoming one of their firefighters.

Of course, it isn’t precisely accurate because they had to add some dramatic effect. That said, the show is filled with mystery, drama, and scary scenes about fire incidents that can happen anywhere.

Those are some reasons why the show might spark your interest in firefighting. They do a good job showing possible real-life scenarios on the job.

It isn’t just some typical show set in a small town; it’ll also keep you braced in your seat. On top of all that, it might give you an idea of what to do if a fire starts nearby and how firefighters handle a crisis.

Where Did The First Season Of Fire Country Left Off?

The first season had fans in disarray as our unfortunate young convict, Bode Donovan, was told by a profoundly disappointed Manny that he was found positive with his drug test. Although the fans know the truth, Bode couldn’t be positive in his drug test because he was clean of them the entire time.

After the fans finally get some action with notable progress on their favorite couple on the show, Gabriela and Bode, his reputation and position get threatened. That is when an attorney accuses Bode of being the drug lord among the inmates, and will face imprisonment again. If he doesn’t comply, his best buddy, Freddy, will stay in prison forever.

That wasn’t the last of their problems because a mudslide happened after non-stop rain. Judging by how Edge Water is a town with many mountains, it makes the perfect recipe for disaster for the first season’s final episode.

Despite all odds being against Bode, he still never fails to show up. He tries his best to help out during the mudslide incident, rescuing civilians trapped under all the mud and debris as soon as possible before they suffocate. It was one of the most intense scenes yet, keeping you at the edge of your seat to see if they successfully rescued all the victims in time.

This heroic act of Bode makes Gabriela and Manny believe that he couldn’t be positive with drugs. That is because what they see in front of them isn’t the same broken juvenile as before but a strong-willed man who wants to improve.

After the incident, it is back to Bode’s potential release or imprisonment. Instead of delivering his prepared speech to get out of parole, Bode takes the blame and says he has relapsed. The first season left many others distraught as it features an ending scene in which Bode is in cuffs and goes back to jail after being framed.

Hopefully, with such a dramatic end, the second season will resolve the issues towards the issues of Fire Country’s cast, especially Bode’s.
